Here's a 1-minute video showing--in the words of visualization hero @EdwardTufte--the "compared to what" factor for today's amazing @NASAWebb image. Thanks to the @WWTelescope for making this possible, and @ADavidWeigel. I only wish @NASA and @POTUS had shown the image this way!

.@PierreKory First off, I’m sorry that you got COVID and I’m glad you recovered. I respect that you have the integrity to admit that ivermectin wasn’t able to prevent your illness. 1/

COVID Update: I’ve had dozens of people ask me with Delta here, what is the COVID end game. Because I don’t know, I interviewed 6 experts on various elements— variants, vaccines, global, policy, ev biology & historical precedence. Will break it down here. 1/

Cool cool…#DeltaVariant is one of the most highly transmissible respiratory viruses, similar to chickenpox and more than Ebola, smallpox, MERS, SARS, Bird flu, 1918 pandemic flu! But we’re just gonna let our unvaccinated children go to school without masks…..

Maryland is the first state I've seen tracking COVID cases, admissions, and deaths by vaccination status. They found that ALL deaths in June were among the unvaccinated. If you're vaccinated against COVID, you're protected. If you're not, you're not. washingtonpost.com/local/cov…

this is why patients with gram neg sepsis often fall apart a few hours after getting antibiotics. bugs explode, spilling LPS. everyone: the patient is crumping, we need to add vanco zentensivist: they’re crumping *because* your antibiotic is hitting the bug. try steroid 😁
If you’ve ever wondered what happens when penicillins kill bacteria... they EXPLODE 🤯 #MedTwitter

In the Intensive Care Unit we're used to taking care of sick patients. We do it all day, every day. So why is #COVIDー19 any different? It’s the silence and the volume. THREAD 1/5

Eating inside a restaurant is not a good idea right now, even if tables are spaced six feet apart. Indoor space with poor ventilation, inconsistent mask wearing, and lots of strangers…a recipe for spread of the virus.
