My feeds on YouTube and here are X are now choked with AI generated slop.
In the last 6 months the rise of generic trash vids and posts is a genuine problem for both platforms.
Sunday afternoon snack time.
And in honour of the cricket game at the Gabba, we thought we take our first attempt at onion bhajis.
All that was left was a clean plate.

Baked some bread rolls for lunch. I ran out of bread flour and substituted about half using atta flour.
The result was a dense nutty roll. I am curious to try atta flour in other breads now.
Second attempt at a potato hash brown. This time with an egg and flour. It tasted pretty good but still room for improvement
One of the greatest parts of travelling is attempting to recreate at home. Poutine is served!

Grilled salmon with a drizzle of my Chinese style master stock drizzled over while frying it.
An awesome smoky and sweet flavour. I’ll take that as a win.

Sometimes cooking doesn’t go to plan. Two thirds of my Chinese master stop all over the floor.
The good news is that I still had a third left to maintain continuity.
A simple fry up for dinner last night.
Sausages, eggs, bacon and onions. Sometimes a simple dinner is extremely satisfying.

I attempted cooking a potato rosti (again).
The good news was I got the outside crispy. However it still didn’t firm up and I over salted it.
Not sure what I am doing wrong. Maybe too much butter this time?
Dinner was a Chinese style braised beef rib.
The flavours were so intense. I may need to dial it back a bit next time.
I made ji dan bing, a Chinese breakfast street food for brunch with a friend yesterday.
A dough and egg flatbread covered with sweet and spicy sauces and wrapped around a lettuce leaf.
I will definitely be cooking them again.
My long weekend has consisted of hiding at home and making various stocks from scraps saved in the freezer.
So far I have made beef, roast duck and a spicy chicken stock.
A serene and satisfying weekend.
Dinner for one! So a large rare steak with fried eggs and creamed spinach.
It’s the simple things in life that can bring great joy.
