First time flying to HVN means it’s also my first chance to try out the “Tweed New Haven Airport Request” note on the @CTTRANSIT 206 schedule!
One challenge is that trip planning apps don’t know how to handle by-request stops. They think the bus always serves the airport outbound (because the schedule has a time with the R note) but never inbound (since the schedule doesn’t show a time).
Next time I’ll probably just walk out of @FlyTweed to the nearest stop. It takes less time than making the call!
Congratulations @SEPTAPHILLY on phase 1 of your New Bus Network! Looks like some really smart simplification of service patterns, removal of squiggly routes, and reinvestment in access-expanding frequency and crosstowns. (1/3)
I rode the brand new 76 route, connecting north and south Philly along the waterfront. People were already finding it!

A 125 St subway should be a slam dunk. But at $7.7B for 1.25 miles, and with stations deep underground, current plans would not only build the most expensive subway in the the world, but would cost riders valuable minutes every single trip.
It's not too late, however:

Was appalled to see this week that @NYCferry has started covering its windows, negating one of their best differentiators: the view!
I’d like to see @NYCferry be frequent enough and long enough span to be a reliable component of the transit network. Current frequency is often so low that if you miss the boat you’re better off going around by bus/subway.

If @SecDuffy were really concerned about safety, he would ban four-lane undivided streets, which, unlike rainbow crosswalks, are actually dangerous. houstonchronicle.com/politic…

My NYC mayoral platform:
- Eliminate all zoning, FAR, height restrictions
- Achieve Nordic costs of subway construction and do Alon's subway plan
- Long Manhattan
- Regional sea wall defense
- Build over Sunnyside Yards
- Retrofit the top of the Empire State Building to accept trans-atlantic zeppelins
- Through-running trains at Penn Station
- Network of rapid regional rail lines to link NYC with neighboring cities
- "superblock" the whole city so traffic only on some lanes
- Protected bike lanes everywhere and new bike bridges across Hudson + East River
- No more onstreet parking; get a parking garage. Expand lots onto the street and do way more outdoor dining and building
- Move the Penn Station bus terminal to New Jersey and run a fast and quick train to it
- Through run freight onto Long Island
- Fix the LIC Hunter's Point food distribution site
- Trash containerization everywhere, including new hydraulic trash tunnels
- Transit expansions to LGA
- Property tax overhaul to reduce burden on multifamily
- expand congestion pricing zone

Excellent opinion piece that captures the stakes: people's lives.
The Mayor has been wholly inadequate on street safety. After two years of declines, his administration has seen a rise in road deaths.
He's failing to keep us safe. houstonchronicle.com/opinion…

Great news to start your Friday: Gov. Kathy Hochul says she won't allow Amtrak to level the block south of Penn Station for its unnecessary, $17B Penn Expansion project.

Turns out six hours aboard @RideBustang in nasty I-70 conditions is what it took to get me off of here! Find me where the sky is blue, same username.
