Christopher Lee with his daughter Christina, and Peter Cushing.
The photographs were taken on the set of She. Lee holds the child. Cushing sits beside them. The work of the picture is finished for the moment. The courtesy between the two men is not.
They made twenty-four films together. The stills do not record a scene. They record the day the scene was not required. The child sits between the Count and the man who hunted him, and does not perform. That is the useful part of the collage.

Ingrid Bergman & Dooley Wilson (as Sam) in “Casablanca” (1942). Wilson was actually a drummer by trade and had no idea how to play the piano. The piano music was played off-camera by pianist and composer Elliot Carpenter and dubbed into the film. Wilson watched and mimicked Carpenter's hand movements on the keyboard so it would look realistic on screen. The famous Casablanca piano later sold at auction at Bonham’s for £3.4 Million.

Clint Eastwood added the remote-controlled car chase in The Dead Pool as a love letter to McQueen’s Bullitt.
The tiny RC car was rapid and kept outrunning Harry’s Oldsmobile, so director Buddy Van Horn reshot it to give Clint a significant head start.

Mel Brooks on how Alfred Hitchcock reacted after seeing the premiere of “High Anxiety” (1977): “‘High Anxiety' premiered on December 25, 1977. At that premiere screening, Hitch sat right next to me. I had my own high anxiety awaiting his reaction. He didn’t laugh. He just sat and he watched. He only broke up once. When the birds let go and plastered me with their droppings, then I could see his shoulders shaking. When the film was over, he got up and walked out. He didn’t say he liked the picture. He didn’t say he hated the picture. He didn’t say anything. He just left. I was devastated. And really worried. Not long after, when I came into the office, there on my desk was a huge box covered with silver paper and red ribbon. I tore the paper open and underneath was an impressive wooden case with a label that read: CHATEAU HAUT BRION 1961. I opened it to see six big, beautiful magnums of Chateau Haut Brion 1961. A priceless gift of one of the finest wines ever made. There was a note:
"My dear Mel,
What a splendid entertainment, one that should give you no anxieties of any kind.
I thank you most humbly for your dedication and I offer you further thanks on behalf of the Golden Gate Bridge.
With kindest regards and again my warmest congratulations.
--- Hitch"

Barbara Barrie (1931-2026)
The Oscar, Emmy, and Tony-nominated actress has died by assistant suicide at at the age of 95. Perhaps best known for her role as the mother in the cult classic film Breaking Away (and the subsequent TV series) she also played Barney Miller's wife in the classic TV series.
She was equally at home on the stage where she earned a Tony Nomination in Sondheim's original production of Company (which I saw) in 1970. She was an all around familiar face to theater, film, and TV audiences starting in the 1950s for more than 60 years.
RIP.
