Or. You drop the ball speed by cutting it in there and most likely increase the spin.
I got a pin that is just over a bunker from 80 yards and i cant afford to give up spin. My stock sand wedge goes 90. If I swing softer I am OBVIOUSLY losing some needed spin.
Can I choke down to the steel, lose a bit of width and speed from doing so but still rip it and get back that spin (obviously i will lose some speed and some spin) or do i just need to go to sleep?
So a) You hit it softer to lower your club speed to then lower the ball speed to hit it the right distance OR b) You choke down and reduce club speed that way but still feel like you’re hitting it hard. Ball doesn’t care how you produce the club speed you need, spin the same.

Most golfers have the release backwards.
The club has to release — but not by throwing the clubhead underneath you.

Considering I went to both gigs, I literally cannot explain just how superior a gig Oasis was. I’m a mega-fan of both, but Oasis rode a wave of nostalgia and feeling that Blur simply cannot touch. And for that, you pay a privilege. It’s steep, but those that want it can see it.
Give it rest Oasis, capitalised on the reunion, doubled down with outrageous price boosting and now coming back for more. Didn’t even provide the highlight of the night, Bittersweet Symphony was the peak.
As always Blur did it better when they came back. For two nights only.

This bunker shot breaks almost every modern “rule.” ⛳ - face not wide open - shaft leaning forwards - ball back - very little of the conventional advice …and it still worked first take. Why? Because the priority wasn’t trying to look technically correct. The priority
Upslopes are deceptive. Because the slope wants to push you backwards down the hill. 🎯 And if your pressure shifts backwards: contact shifts backwards too. That’s why strike becomes the priority here. For a lower shot: * ball slightly back * some shaft lean * accept the
PGA Championship prep done. What a great layout Aronomink is. Good luck to and 👊 Special mention to for his impeccable footwork
Everything you do around the greens should work off a foundational stock shot. It’s amazing how often I give lessons which begin with no foundation to build from and then players wonder why they struggle! Build a better short game by joining my online academy, or don’t. No
Ball below your feet is nasty. ⛳ And the problem isn’t just balance. The issue is: * the swing naturally wants to move inward * the ground sits higher under the heel * the heel wants to strike first That combination makes contact difficult very quickly. 🎯 So instead of
Ball above your feet is nowhere near as difficult as most golfers think. The issue usually isn’t the ground interaction. It’s the face direction. 🎯 As the ball gets further above your feet: the clubface naturally points more left. So this becomes more of a launch direction
Why are downslopes so difficult? Because the ground sits higher behind the golf ball. So if your normal miss is contacting the ground slightly early… the slope punishes you faster. 🎯 Most golfers already know to: * lean with the slope * match shoulders to the hill But the
STOP using flight/roll percentages for your short game shots. Use one roll out distance with your favourite wedge up to approx 35 yards. Figure it out wherever you’re playing by hitting a few from 20 yards and measuring the (flat) roll out, that’s it. *adjustments are
5–8 seconds feels like nothing. It’s actually plenty. The problem isn’t the shot. It’s what happens when you stay too long. Doubt creeps in. Mechanics take over. And the swing you rehearsed disappears
