NEW: Angie Nixon is running for Senate on a huge bet: Medicare for All can win over Trump voters in Florida. To put that theory to the test, we brought Nixon to one of the unhealthiest counties in Florida — where 1 in 5 lives in poverty, thousands are uninsured, and doctors are few and far between.

Funniest part of The Social Reckoning is when two women ask for the room to finally get their meaty one-on-one SORKIN™️ scene together, so instead we follow the two men out of the room so they can discuss how brave those gals are being in there.

"The Disappearers,” Marlon James’s most recent novel, follows a group of gay men in Jamaica who seek love, connection, and restitution after a bloody homophobic attack. The first of five sections is composed of journal entries, written by the earnest, good-natured 19-year-old Eddy Porteous, who is absent when a mob of men ambushes the other players in a theatre production of which he is also a part. The rest of the book is the aftermath. “ ‘The Disappearers’ uses the tricks of fiction to pull off something extremely difficult,” Katy Waldman writes: “giving full weight to tragedy and injustice without implying that some lives are over before they’ve begun.” Read her full review: newyorker.com/magazine/2026/…

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library non profit has been responsible for getting millions of books in young peoples hands over the years for free. They were a huge supporter of Hair Love and I encourage you all to check it out and encourage people who may benefit to sign up.

Yes, THE LONG RUN should be adapted into a tv show. Yes, it was ALWAYS set in Atlanta. No, I’ve never stepped FOOT in New Jersey, and Rachel Reid knows this. Happy Pride, buy my book about two boys fooling around in Hotlanta

They're busy writing the book version of their already-written screenplay so that they can get a publishing deal in order to pitch IP to adapt. 🙄

Today, I signed an executive order establishing the first-ever Mayor’s Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs and appointing the brilliant Taylor Brown as Director. Queer New Yorkers deserve to be not just protected, but celebrated in this city. Together, we will fight for their right to live a life of dignity, safety, and unabashed pride.

ICE murdered Renée Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives. We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.
