Reignited Trilogy released at the end of 2018. We're pretty much at the tail end of the five years (see pic). Spyro 4 also probably didn't get greenlit immediately after Reignited.
Plus remember there was a freaking pandemic in the middle of it all. Lots of developmental issues.
