A global pandemic. A maze of unanswered questions.
The lethal cost of Covid-19 has been felt around the world - but where did the virus come from? Did it leak from a lab, or is that just a conspiracy theory? #CovidLeak?

Some might say this is a textbook example of how Power games the system to get the result it wants.
Others might add this is the democratic process reduced to third rate theatre.
All in the service of dangerous ideology which irreversibly harms vulnerable children.
I want you all to know this.
There are 650 MPs in Parliament. Yet the one MP chosen by @UKLabour to Chair the Bill Committee for the controversial, dangerous and dismally bad draft legislation, the Conversion Practices Bill, is Alex Barros-Curtis. Until July 2024, when Alex was given a very safe Labour seat in Cardiff, he was the Head of the Labour Party's Governance and Legal Unit in London. This was a department set up to investigate complaints against members of the Labour Party. Complaints of antisemitism, Islamophobia, abuse, and of course latterly, mostly women holding legally-protected 'Gender Critical' (sex realist) beliefs. Alex oversaw the investigation of hundreds of members who liked or tweeted gender critical or feminist views. I was one of them. He investigated me, as a sitting Labour MP, for 13 months.
13 months to 'investigate' one like of one tweet. I had a great lawyer, one of the names we're all now familiar with, and I had to crowdfund to pay for his (excellent) work.
They first tried in 2020. But the screenshots crudely attached to that passive aggressive, threatening-sounding email from LP admin staff were so risible that I replied that it was too ridiculous for me to waste my precious time on. They left it. Years of Starmer bumbling and stuttering through interviews about whether he had spoken to me, whether he supported me, etc followed. My feminist sins continued apace.
And then I 'liked' a tweet by my GC comedian friend @Glinner. He had mocked Eddie'Suzy' for comparing his choice to wear traditional women's clothing, fake plastic breasts and nails, to those being persecuted by the Nazis during WWII. I found his sarcasm, as a award-winning comedy writer in the face of such offensive narcissism amusing and so 'liked' it. I found it absurd and obscene that Izzard, an extremely privileged and wealthy man, who openly changed his 'gender' at will, should write himself into history falseley as someone who would have been oppressed due to a circumstance beyond his control. We all know the groups who were tortured, starved and killed...
There is obviously more to my story, I will tell it all, it's just one chapter of the years of spiteful abusive and bullying practices meted out to me by the Labour Party managers. Not those who'd achieved office on merit, or even unexpectedly, but those in the club, often having failed to be elected themselves.
So Barros-Curtis who we were repeatedly told led 'the many *independent* inquiries into women members and MPs like me, now often stands as a trans-rights activist on the Labour backbenches. He has also been gifted the role of Chair of this Committee and is a huge supporter of this Bill. And I am not a part of the Bill Committee, although plenty of TRA MPs are. Does that sound like the democratic scrutiny of legislation to you?
A typically insightful article from Emma Webber on the "review" into the murder of Henry Nowak.
Does the state have the courage to address the core issues?
Or will this "review" be yet another institutional fudge?
No family should ever have to fight the state to get answers.
My latest Substack article looks at the murder of Henry Nowak, the rot within our police and watchdogs, and the fight for true accountability.

It has been like this since 2020.
We at #DRASTIC decided not to waste time with the disinformation tool that @Wikipedia had become on the possible lab origins.
They don‘t do any research and just try to shape the narrative for their political objectives.
This is actually pretty crazy. A handful of editors have shaped everything @Wikipedia has to say about COVID lab leak.
The site almost categorically casts lab leak as a "conspiracy theory."
+ The DEFUSE proposal, a bombshell in the investigation into the origin of SARS-CoV-2 — was more or less ignored, then whittled down, then removed.
+ Animal origin, which is unproven, is presented as settled science.
+ The idea that COVID came from a lab in Wuhan is treated by key editors as as a racially motivated "MAGA" conspiracy theory.

Once more.
What is exposed here is just how appalling the disparity between the prison and hospital system is with serious offenders.
Not to be confused with early release prisoners.
Calocane is a patient.
He is in a hospital.
He therefore has automatic rights to apply via a tribunal.
There is a process.
These are held in private behind closed doors.
The most we would be allowed to do is offer a victim impact statement.
Hospitals treat.
Not detain.
80% of offenders in receipt of indefinite hospital orders for these most serious of crimes (and they are crimes) are out within 10 years.
Allegedly managed ‘closely’ and within the community.
And we know how well that works!
If denied then able to apply again.
12 months later.
Rinse repeat.
That’s how it works.
And that’s why, over my literal dead body, will that monster ever ever be free to walk our streets again.
I promise you that Barney. 💚💛

Emma Webber, the mother of Nottingham attack victim Barnaby, tells @NickFerrariLBC about the moment she learned his killer could be eligible for release in January.

Emma Webber, whose son Nottingham University son Barnaby was one of three people killed by a mentally ill man in June 2023 is fascinating on this panel about institutional cover ups which also takes in the grooming gangs:
‘We’ve got a really serious, pernicious problem with accountability in this country. We're very good at discussing and investigating and being outraged when these tragedies happen, but what we're really bad at doing is anything meaningful or lasting about it, because it's decades and decades of of this, and I think that it's driven by fear. It's driven by institutional behaviour, toxicity, evasion, reputation over reality, and closing of ranks, and general inability to do the right thing morally and legally.’
@MaggieOliverUK adds:
‘It shouldn't have fallen to me to have those conversations. Chief constables, Home Secretaries should not have turned away. It wasn't that they didn't know. They made a very conscious decision that we are going to do nothing. Well, that's not right, and it's not good enough, and it has to be addressed.’

The BBC now needs to reveal how many particularly political stories bylined to the BBC were actually written or part-written by government employees, who were being paid by the taxpayer to write them, and why this crucial information was hidden from both taxpayers and readers
This is not journalism.
This is propaganda.

Ironically, Orwell's statue outside BBC Broadcasting House declares:
"If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear."
A senior Whitehall source has said Labour is planning to expand the licence fee next year to cover YouTube, plus all other streaming platforms, and money raised will be used by the BBC to "tackle misinformation, which has fuelled the rise of Reform" independent.co.uk/news/uk/po…

Point of Order: The idiot Prime Minister Andy Burnham has compromised the trial of the man accused of murdering Ann Widdecombe
Jan Klimkowski retweeted
Prime Minister @andyburnham stood up in the House of Commons today, and branded a man who has been charged with the murder of Ann Widdecombe, so is therefore innocent until proven guilty, as being ‘responsible’ for that crime. Burnham has now put a murder trial at risk. Appalling

The Home Office & Police leadership are in disarray when it comes to safety.
We the Nottingham families were not told about a stalker.
The Kerry hit list: were Tom Tugendhat, the shadow foreign secretary, Robert Jenrick, Lee Anderson and Richard Tice of Reform UK, and Rosie Duffield, an independent MP and Kemi Badenoch, it is understood.
Several of those named have accused the police and Shabana Mahmood, the Home Secretary, of letting them down by failing to tell them for months that they were on the alleged list.
Why would you not tell people so they can watch over themselves and their families?
