Number of kids dressed up as astronauts is 100% a KPI for NASA, directly aligned with its founding purpose. It's going up. Saw a kid dressed as @Astro_Christina at my kids' school halloween party. 🧑‍🚀

JUST IN: More than 250 hospitals have committed to serving healthier food, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said. The hospitals signed the Make Hospital Food Healthier Pledge, which commits them to providing healthier food to patients and emphasizing nutrition. “Hospitals have a responsibility to promote health in every part of patient care, including the food they serve,” Kennedy said in a statement. “More than 250 hospitals are taking action to improve nutrition for their patients, staff, and communities. I am calling on every hospital in America to join them, sign the pledge, and help make healthy food a standard part of health care.” The hospitals include multiple Cleveland Clinic facilities in Ohio, Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital in Texas, and Sanford Medical Center Fargo in North Dakota. Tina Freese Decker, CEO of Corewell Health, which signed the pledge, said Monday during an appearance with Kennedy that the focus on healthier food and nutrition is embedded in Corewell’s organization, cafeterias, and programs. “And it’s a badge of honor that we know that if you do come to one of our hospitals, you should be leaving saying that was really good food,” Decker said.

Some Bible verses challenge us to take an honest look at our hearts. Hebrews 4:12 describes Scripture as alive & active, revealing even the thoughts & attitudes of our hearts. Read it in your favorite Bible version on Bible Gateway: bit.ly/4zZzLOL

Hero!
Coast Guard rescue swimmer rescues 16 people 140 miles off the coast of Baja California in pitch-black darkness while getting tossed by 8-foot waves. 24-year-old Josh Law is credited with the heroic rescue. At 1 a.m., a call came in at the US Coast Guard Air Station in Ventura, California, from a boat sinking in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Ensenada, Mexico. The Coast Guard crew geared up and jumped into the helicopter before making the long trek to the boat. The boat had capsized about 140 miles off the coast and threw more than two dozen people into cold water. When the crew finally located the wreckage, they lowered Law by cable from the helicopter into the water. He was the only rescuer in the cold water for 2 hours. Law was in pitch darkness with no moonlight, in 6- to 8-foot waves, rotor spray and turbulence, and hypothermic water. "I was experiencing exhaustion at that point... what I was experiencing was nothing compared to what they were at that point," Law said. "With one hand, I’m holding the survivor. With the other, I am signaling to the helicopter and working with the device," he said. He did this to rescue 16 survivors, placing them in the basket one by one before hoisting them up to the helicopter. With fuel running low, the crew raced to the Coast Guard station in San Diego, California, which is about 160 miles south of the Ventura station. Law said he treated the survivors during the flight. Some had injuries consistent with shark bites. All 16 were Mexicans, and the ones with injuries were treated when they got to shore. About half have since returned to Mexico. Eleven people on the boat were never found, but thanks to Law and the rest of the crew, 16 lives were saved. Beast.

Tennessee ❤️❤️❤️ Southern Hospitality
Our boss called an emergency meeting about "the Tennessee situation." Background: my coworker spent a year in Tennessee. He came back saying "y'all," holding doors for the entire floor, and telling people he's proud of them. Then hundreds of Tennesseans replied to my post about him. He read every single reply. Out loud. At lunch. It got worse. He now asks our boss, "How's your mama and 'em?" Every morning. Our boss's mother is 89. She has started sending him rice crackers. He learned "bless your heart" can mean two things. He decided to only ever mean the nice one. He made sweet tea in the office kettle. Accounting calls it "the syrup." Accounting drinks the syrup. So. The meeting. Our boss stood up. Nobody breathed. We were sure "y'all" was about to be banned. He said, "I have one question." "How do I tell my team I'm proud of them… without anyone crying?" My coworker thought about it. "You can't, sir. That's how you know it worked." Our boss was quiet for a long time. Then he said it. To every one of us. By name. Three people cried. One of them was him. Tennessee, y'all said it was contagious. You were right. Please don't send a cure.

Wow!
80 years ago today, the first images of Earth from space were taken. A 35mm camera mounted on a captured V-2 rocket launched from White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. This photo is a frame from the rocket's journey to 65 miles (105 km) above Earth's surface.
