Have been shocked at how many have been rude and used the ‘f’ word. Most had few followers so probably done it for effect. Anyway- all blocked😀Don’t mind differences of opinion but not blatent rudeness.

Why do so many people have to be so 🤬 rude? As Paddington says “Be kind and polite and the world will be right”.
Yes I do. Poor msn - never lived it down 😀

Remember this?
Michael Fish made his famous incorrect weather forecast on 15 October 1987, the day before the devastating Great Storm of 1987 hit southern England in the early hours of 16 October.
Thank you. Was only sharing a feeling am sure many were experiencing the same thing

Thank you 👍 At least I don't try to put fear into the mind of someone who's clearly already worried. The lady in question lives alone, so I'm sure doesn't need anyone adding to her anxiety.

This is an al mino. A weather event that now and then comes along . Nature is gradually moving into another change. In my 92 years on this planet I have seen many weather events like this.

If I recall correctly, the pattern is following the long hot summer of 1976 and if I'm right, we'll be in for early snow this year.
Weather is of course, cyclic.
Should explain. Do you remember Norwegian A shaped houses? Mine is a little like that. Living room is immediately under roof so nothing - no attic or roof space to deaden the wind.

I live up north at the top of a valley & it’s always windy. The noise makes it appear worse than it is. The constant catastrophizing of every weather event by the media is ridiculous & is why a lot of people are frightened of their own shadows these days.
Wait till you are older and see how you feel.
You should be here. Living close to the coast the winds are awful and battering everything.
Had enough of old property always needing repair. Thought a modern build would be trouble free for a good many years. This little development so shoddily built that we’ve all had to have dormer window roofs and shoddy double glazing replaced etc. very disappointing 😡

Me too, Jan! I’m in Jersey, which has taken quite a battering since yesterday!
So would I. Better music, fewer people and a whole lot of life ahead to which to look forward.
Yes I know but the good weather lasted so long - it’s been quite a shock to have this dramatic change.

We have been brainwashed into thinking it’s abnormal. It’s nearly November!

I've returned to my old family home. Can't remember the severity of the gusts and frequency of the storms. Like you, the roof has suffered before but I dread the winters now. Maybe the trees have grown taller and I have grown older and more risk averse.
A few years ago a neighbour had her entire roof taken off by a storm in this village. I know worry is interest on a debt before it falls due, but I do worry a great deal more than I used to. Age!🤪

There have always been gales in October and March as I remember.
It can be scary but there's also something comforting about listening to wild weather battering your house whilst you stay warm, dry and safe inside
Yes indeed. We lose confidence and worry about so many things we would have taken in our stride when younger. I no longer want to travel by air because of all the hassle and Apps. Why cant we just have a paper ticket🤣

Yes. But I think it’s my age and living alone. Everything scares me now. Stay safe Jan

This just came up on photo memory- Jonathan and I at Uluru, Australia. Wearing fly nets or we’d be eating them! Nice antidote to current weather outside. 😀
Thank you😘wind is dying down slightly. Hope we don’t get storm Chloe. By coincidence am going to see a dear friend in Bucks on Monday - Chloe😀
