If I combine system ram and vram across all my systems, 900GB total. If we're splitting system/vram, 576GB/324GB respectively. Now granted, this is across 5 systems, only two of which solely dedicated to AI witchery. The Witches -SYS-05 (Wren) - Threadripper Pro 3955WX (16 Core), 128GB DD4, 6X RTX 3090 (NVLinked, 3 pairs), 1X 5060 TI 16GB -SYS-03 (Demi) - EPYC 7532 (32 core), 256 GB DDR4, 4X RTX 5090 Home Assistant/Media Server/Keeper of the Backups -SYS-05 (Jarvis) - Ryzen 9 5900XT (16 Core), 64GB DDR4, 1X 5060 TI 16GB Daily Drivers -SYS-01 (Swordfish) - Ryzen 9 9950X (16 Core), 96GB DDR5, 1X RTX 3060 12GB -SYS-02 (Daywalker) - Razer Blade 14 laptop - Ryzen 9 8945HS (8 core + NPU), 32GB DDR5, RTX 4070 8gb

I haven’t quite decided what I think about this Qwen 3.8 flash sending data to Alibaba business yet. That said, the benchmark gaps between Nemotron and a lot of other top open weight models sure feel a lot more acceptable than they did yesterday. I’m going to take this as my sign to stop dragging my feet on fine tuning a version for personal excellence.

This.
This weird qwen behavior is going to go viral because no one has read traces from mid-tier open models and realized they're almost all super janky.

Announcing a new iPad mini so close to the iPhone Duo is a wild move considering that by most accounts they should have made the inside screen of the Duo just run iPad apps but they didn’t.

it has become complete counter-consensus to be bullish onchain now, have never seen sentiment this bad & ive been here ~9 years crypto twitter has forgotten that it requires actual work on the builder side to make coins do well, so many traders complaining about lower ceilings on coins and not nearly enough people actually trying to build interesting protocols and/or to change that dynamic

good acct to follow here if you are sick of your Smart TV
in less technical terms: a method for permanently taking back control of your TV, so long as your tv is arm64-based is looking promising as a free and open tool we can release. if you want know some of what i discovered on my 2024 era samsung tv read my latest tweets.

your Hermes subagents don't have to run on the same model as your main agent... advanced-delegation just landed in the Hermes plugin catalog! it's an official plugin that lets the agent send each subagent down a route you set up... a model or one of your Hermes profiles set up routes like fast, deep or local and the agent picks one for each subagent... pretty cool right! model routes send a subagent to the model you named for that route profile routes run a subagent as one of your Hermes profiles, with its own model, skills and SOUL.md only the route names and their one-line descriptions reach the model your subagents no longer have to be so stressed!

I think this is an incredibly valid critique, but it misses what makes Pearl so interesting. Pearl would not be a good asymmetric opportunity if it was built on SHA512 or some other useless algorithm. We all know we don't need another Bitcoin What makes Pearl asymmetric is the differences between it and Bitcoin. Bitcoin Maxis decided long ago that picking a useful algorithm opened up attack vectors on Bitcoin, but I don't really know if we ever actually tested that assumption as seriously as Peal is now Yes, there were projects that were doing merge mining back in the day, but merge mining is very different, I believe, compared to the duplex mining or two-for-one work that Pearl does. From what I can tell, we're running a new and interesting experiment I think it's actually totally reasonable if your base case is that Pearl goes to zero. But on the off chance that it doesn't, the opportunity is so massive that you kind of need to imagine, instead of "How might this thing fail?", "How might this thing succeed?" For the specific critique that Sami is making here, I think the game theory is if you could just 51% attack it and print money, everybody would race to do it. Enough compute would come online that you saturate the available GPUs, which is Pearl's win condition anyway. I think they want people racing to 51% attack them. That's what gets it so embedded into the ecosystem and maybe part of why hash is going so exponential
What happens when a couple of Chinese data centers decide to 51% attack Pearl? Rn it looks like it would take ~200 MW of GPUs Attacking Bitcoin burns your ASICs, which become worthless once BTC tanks. Attack Pearl and your GPUs keep their value. So cost to attack is zero?

In the last month, the Hermes Agent processed 53.3T tokens, making it the most widely used open source agent harness in the world according to @OpenRouter. So how did a project that started as 10 anons in a @discord go head to head with the largest, best-funded labs in the world? The only way these things have ever happened - a bunch of friends making something they believe should exist. @NousResearch

Yesterday AI was used to uncover major vulnerabilities in the infrastructure of the internet. It's yet another example of how profoundly AI is reshaping the web. But what emerges on the other side is very much up for grabs. We were lucky enough to recently introduce two heroes of the Rebel Alliance @eastdakota, CEO & cofounder of @Cloudflare @dillonrolnick, CEO & cofounder of @NousResearch, the creators of Hermes, the largest open source agent harness in the world. Together they discussed who gets to build, control, and benefit from an internet run by AI It's worth a listen if you care about the future of the web. 0:00 Preview 1:41 From a Discord Group to an AI Lab 8:45 Can Anyone Actually Pause AI? 12:59 Would You Trust an Agent With Your Inbox? 14:58 Why Matthew Wouldn’t Trade Places With Sam or Dario 20:28 The Dead Internet Theory Was Wrong 22:28 Agents Don’t Click Ads. It’s called local inference, T. You just quantize Qwen 3.8 27B, toss it on your RTX 3090, and let that thing cook Context windows are for people who rent compute

“One kernel on one B200 can now train a model, serve inference and play Doom at the same time.” That’s absolutely wild. Also feels at least adjacent to what the peeps @prlnet are doing with the simultaneous mining while providing inference. Really neat stuff.
FULL INTERVIEW: Flapping Airplanes just raised a $1B Series A after rebuilding the GPU stack from scratch. Co-founder Aidan Smith says they don’t even use Torch, NCCL or CUDA’s normal runtime. One kernel on one B200 can now train a model, serve inference and play Doom at the same time. @aidanmantine, Thiel Fellow and 3-year Neuralink alum, co-founded @flappyairplanes. He joined @sophiadew and @theojaffee to break down why AI needs to learn more like the brain, how they rebuilt the GPU stack, and who they hire: 00:30 where the name Flapping Airplanes comes from 02:04 why they bet on data efficiency 03:07 what Neuralink taught him about AI 04:27 how slow your brain actually is 06:06 why not just emulate the whole brain 08:40 why they rebuilt the GPU stack from scratch 10:33 compute overhang and safety 12:56 can a neo lab win if the big labs hit RSI first 14:27 what ML research looks like when no one writes code 15:40 why DNA, robotics and trading are data-starved 18:41 how they hire in the AI talent wars 21:17 the models they might ship first

This explains Zcash, Pearl, etc.
Pearl is one of those things I'm probably just gonna fade because I'm fully allocated and cannot chase all the new kids on the block. However I think the interest in it proves a larger point: disaffection with bitcoin is the key driver this cycle. Basically the only things pumping are (1) onchain companies which have clear profits that justify buying them and (2) coins attempting to succeed where bitcoin has failed.

As a local AI proponent and practitioner, I understand the feeling to be alarmed by this. That said, government agencies banning to use of foreign products or services is not that out of the norm. Certainly something to keep an eye on though, especially with the sycophant clown factory that is most of this administration.
SITUATION DETECTED: The US government is banning DeepSeek from all civilian federal agency IT systems under national security.
