In 1969 in London, Ontario, Gary Shaw opened The PoP Shoppe.
The company quickly found success and grew thanks to its famous mix-and-match system.
But by 1983 it was gone...only to return two decades later.
This is the story.

being suicidal doesn’t mean that I’m going to kill myself. being suicidal is having this inexplainable ache while you’re living. It’s waiting for your life to end, and wishing that you didn’t have to carry on. Having this ache, and incapability to feel happy living, doesn’t mean that I am going to kill myself; it just means that I wouldn’t mind dying

Am I alone here? I am 50, single, no kids and never been married (or engaged). I have had girlfriends but obviously not found the 'one'. And now, I just can't be bothered. I have no interest in dating sites and just feel like I am happy by myself. Is this pretty normal?

There are people who spend so much energy maintaining the image of being okay that they have nothing left to actually be okay with.

I was given my name by the Iroquois Nation many hundreds of years ago. By 1660 my name was printed on maps by the Europeans as they accepted the Native name which means Beautiful waters.
In 1867 the Canadian government decided to use my name for their providence.

You're a man. Get out of your fucking room. Pack your laptop. Go to a coffee shop. Work from a hotel. Rent an Airbnb for the weekend. Take a train to another city. Go for a long walk. Go ANYWHERE but the same four walls. Sometimes changing your environment can break the mental loop you're stuck in. You don't need to wait until you feel motivated. Put your shoes on. Step outside. Get some sunlight. See different faces. Move your body. Work somewhere new.
