Justice should be served. But does it need to be broadcast for the world to watch? In 2009, 13 people were killed and 32 others were wounded in the horrific shooting at Fort Hood, Texas. Nidal Hasan was convicted of those murders and is now scheduled to be executed.

There’s a difference between holding someone accountable for horrific actions and making their punishment something for the world to consume. How the United States carries out justice matters. It reflects our values, our principles, and the example we set for the next generation

We can believe in accountability without believing that everything needs an audience. What are your thoughts

What’s particularly impressive about this, is that this study accounts for climate when evaluating home energy efficiency. With Utah’s hot summers and cold winters, we’re still performing among the best in the country.

Energy efficiency matters because it means making better use of the resources we have. And when families can reduce energy waste, they can also save money on their monthly utility bills.

We’re asking teachers to do far more than teach. Today, teachers are expected to educate our kids, manage behavior, address discipline, help with emotional & social challenges, and somehow make sure every student is academically prepared. That’s a lot to put on one person.

Education continues to be one of my biggest priorities. That includes supporting our teachers, addressing attendance & accountability, & making sure our students actually understand the country & communities they’re preparing to participate in. We have to get the basics right.

Twenty five years later, we remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families forever changed, and the first responders who ran toward danger. May we continue to honor their courage, sacrifice, and memory. Never forget.

We are so grateful! Yesterday we gathered with families affected by the Logan fire and the first responders who stepped in when our community needed them most. Because of their work, not one home or life was lost. Proud of the way this community showed up.

Yesterday, I joined the signing of BTECH Now, USU Next, a new partnership creating clearer pathways between Bridgerland Technical College & Utah State University. The goal is simple: meet students where they are & help them keep moving forward.

A great Apple Days weekend in River Heights. We had a lot of fun being part of the parade and seeing so many families and neighbors out celebrating together. Thank you to everyone who made Apple Days happen and to everyone who came out to join us. We love our home!

Utah’s gambling laws were challenged in federal court, and Utah prevailed! Kalshi argued that because it operates as a federally registered exchange, its sports event contracts should be protected from state gambling laws…

The court rejected that argument and affirmed Utah’s authority to enforce its laws within our own borders. This is bigger than one company or one case. It’s another example of why the balance between state and federal authority matters!

States should not lose their constitutional role simply because an issue gets repackaged under a federal label. Utah’s law stands, and the case has been ordered closed.
