"[Satan] will set up a counterchurch which will be the ape of the [Catholic] Church … It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content.” We are living in the days of the Apocalypse, the last days of our era. The two great forces – the Mystical Body of Christ and the Mystical Body of the anti-Christ – are beginning to draw battle lines for the catastrophic contest. The False prophet will have a religion without a cross. A religion without a world to come. A religion to destroy religions. There will be a counterfeit Church. Christ’s Church, the Catholic Church, will be one; and the false Prophet will create the other. The False Church will be worldly, ecumenical, and global. It will be a loose federation of churches and religions, forming some type of global association. A world parliament of Churches. It will be emptied of all Divine content, it will be the mystical body of the anti-christ. The Mystical Body on earth today will have its Judas Iscariot, and he will be the false prophet. Satan will recruit him from our Bishops. The Antichrist will not be so called; otherwise he would have no followers. He will not wear red tights, nor vomit sulphur, nor carry a trident nor wave an arrowed tail as Mephistopheles in Faust. This masquerade has helped the Devil convince men that he does not exist. When no man recognizes, the more power he exercises. God has defined Himself as “I am Who am,” and the Devil as “I am who am not.” Nowhere in Sacred Scripture do we find warrant for the popular myth of the Devil as a buffoon who is dressed like the first “red.” Rather is he described as an angel fallen from heaven, as “the Prince of this world,” whose business it is to tell us that there is no other world. His logic is simple: if there is no heaven there is no hell; if there is no hell, then there is no sin; if there is no sin, then there is no judge, and if there is no judgment then evil is good and good is evil. But above all these descriptions, Our Lord tells us that he will be so much like Himself that he would deceive even the elect–and certainly no devil ever seen in picture books could deceive even the elect. How will he come in this new age to win followers to his religion? The pre-Communist Russian belief is that he will come disguised as the Great Humanitarian; he will talk peace, prosperity and plenty not as means to lead us to God, but as ends in themselves … The third temptation in which Satan asked Christ to adore him and all the kingdoms of the world would be His, will become the temptation to have a new religion without a Cross, a liturgy without a world to come, a religion to destroy a religion, or a politics which is a religion–one that renders unto Caesar even the things that are God’s. In the midst of all his seeming love for humanity and his glib talk of freedom and equality, he will have one great secret which he will tell to no one: he will not believe in God. Because his religion will be brotherhood without the fatherhood of God, he will deceive even the elect. He will set up a counterchurch, which will be the ape of the Church, because he, the Devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the Antichrist that will, in all externals, resemble the mystical body of Christ … But the twentieth century will join the counterchurch because it claims to be infallible when its visible head speaks ex cathedra from Moscow on the subject of economics and politics and as chief shepherd of world communism. August 21, 1883. Just after six in the evening, the sky over Rochester, Minnesota turns the color of a bruise. Twenty minutes later, a third of the town is gone. Thirty seven people are dead. More than two hundred are bleeding in the streets. Rochester had no hospital. Not one. So a convent school on the edge of town emptied out. The nuns walked into the wreckage in full habits, and a woman named Mother Alfred Moes, an immigrant from Luxembourg who had come to America with almost nothing, sent word to the only doctor in town who could handle that many wounded. His name was William Worrall Mayo. He was 64, an English country doctor, a hard skeptic on the subject of religion. The sisters took over Rommel's dance hall and turned it into a hospital overnight. None of them had ever been trained in nursing. They learned it standing up, with Mayo giving orders and the injured laid out on the floorboards. When the last patient was gone, Mother Alfred went to see him. She told him Rochester needed a real hospital. A permanent one. She said she had seen it, a great hospital rising out of the cornfields on the west edge of town, and that she wanted him to run it. Mayo told her the truth. A building like that would cost $40,000. Well over a million in today's money. He said no congregation of school teaching nuns could possibly raise it. She did not argue with him. She simply told him that if he would take charge of the hospital, the sisters would take charge of paying for it. Then she went out and did it. For six years, her sisters taught school and handed over their wages. Every dollar. She bought nine acres of farmland. She hired the builders. She oversaw the plans herself, and when the money ran short, she found more. Saint Marys Hospital opened on September 30, 1889. Twenty seven beds. Thirteen sisters, none of them nurses by training. Dr. Mayo, now 70, walked in as chief of staff with his two sons, Will and Charlie, beside him. Those two boys built their surgical practice inside her building. Patients started arriving from Chicago, then from every state, then from overseas. The brothers formalized the partnership in 1919 and gave it their family name. Mayo Clinic. Today it treats more than a million patients a year and is ranked the best hospital in the United States. Mother Alfred Moes died on December 18, 1899, ten years after the doors opened. She never saw what it became. The Mayo brothers always said it plainly. Their father did not want the hospital. The nun did. She built it, and then she handed them the keys. Millions of Americans have made the drive to Rochester with someone they love in the passenger seat. Almost none of them know that the whole thing started with a 54-year-old woman standing in tornado wreckage, refusing to accept a no. h/t: Minnesota | FB

Frighteningly, Blessed Fulton Sheen precisely identified the spiritual crisis of the 21st century more than fifty years ago. Reflecting on Christ's encounter with the Gerasene demoniac in Mark 5, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen identified three characteristics of the diabolical which, viewed through the lens of contemporary culture, make for unsettling reading. 1. The obsession with nudity. The degradation of human sexuality, the commodification of the body and the progressive abandonment of modesty. What was once regarded as intimate and sacred becomes something to be consumed. 2. Violence and destruction. Not simply physical aggression, but a culture increasingly fascinated by hatred, confrontation, humiliation and the destruction of others. Violence becomes entertainment; cruelty becomes a spectacle, we see this in art, tv even news coverage today. 3. The fragmentation of identity. Perhaps the most striking of all. The Gerasene demoniac answers Christ's question, "What is your name?", with the words: "My name is Legion, for we are many." Sheen saw here a profound image of the divided self, a person whose interior unity has been shattered. We are created to possess an interior unity, in which our reason, will, emotions, desires, body and soul are integrated and ordered towards God. Sin disrupts that unity; we become divided against ourselves, knowing what is good but desiring what is harmful, pursuing happiness through things that ultimately leave us dissatisfied. St Paul describes something similar in Romans 7:19: "For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do." What makes Sheen's analysis so fascinating here is his understanding of the diabolical as fundamentally destructive of unity: within the human person, within families, within society and even within the Church. Consider the extraordinary fragmentation of contemporary Western culture, our confusion about the human person, our disintegrating relationships and our increasingly bitter divisions. Sheen was not suggesting that everyone experiencing these difficulties was possessed. He was identifying something far more important: the spiritual logic of evil, which seeks to separate what God has joined together. Perhaps the most revealing question is not whether Sheen's observations describe our society, it's obvious & chilling how clearly they do, but how we came to regard so many of these symptoms as signs of progress?

If you haven't figured out why you were born in these chaotic times, it's because it's our mission to save the world from the death cult. We have Christ with us. Early Christians were eaten by lions in the Coliseum. The wolves are trying to devour us inside the Church and inside our nation. There have never been more opportunities to be light in a dark world. There have never been more opportunities to become a Saint.

I can face the winter with calm. Crisp and sparkling days, long pleasant evenings, cheery fires. Good work shall be done this winter. Life shall be lived well. The end of the summer is not the end of the world. Here's to October. -- A.A. Milne

What if two days after death could feel more painful than 80 years of life? ⤵️ That is the extraordinary testimony attributed to Blessed Mother Speranza of Jesus. Mother Speranza said the Lord once showed her a bishop who had died and was about to enter the glory of Heaven. The bishop had approved the first Sanctuary of the Merciful Love, and according to her testimony, the Lord was greatly pleased with what he had done. But before entering Heaven, the bishop revealed something that shocked her. He told her he had suffered greatly in Purgatory. Mother Speranza couldn't understand. She said, “Your Excellency, you died yesterday in Rome. Why do you tell me that you have suffered for a long time if only two days have passed?” His answer carried a terrifying lesson. Those two days in Purgatory had seemed more painful to him than the 80 years he had lived on Earth. Because after death, the soul sees everything differently. It encounters God and understands, with complete clarity, how it lived, how it loved, and all the moments it neglected Him. Suddenly, the things that seemed so important during earthly life are seen for what they truly were. Money. Status. Possessions. All of it eventually gets left behind. But how you loved God does not. And that was the warning the bishop wanted Mother Speranza to give to others: Don't wait until the end of your life to remember God. Don't assume you'll have more time. Love Him now. Live for Him now. Because according to the testimony, the bishop left her with one final message: “Tell everyone that the afterlife exists and that on earth the most important thing is to love the Lord. Everything else is useless.”

Jesus Personally Taught St. Faustina How To Survive Spiritual Attacks… Here are 10 Instructions That Could Change Everything. 📅 October 5: Feast of St. Faustina Kowalska 1. Trust Me completely → Distrust opens the soul to fear. Trust disarms it. Jesus repeatedly says that graces flow according to trust (Diary 1578) and that the soul that trusts Him is never lost (Diary 723). 2. Run to My Heart immediately in temptation → Do not dialogue with temptation. Refuge is victory. “When you are about to fall, run at once to My Heart” (Diary 1485). He warns not to engage temptation but to flee to Him immediately. 3. Reveal temptations in confession → Darkness loses power when brought into the light. “The priest is My representative… reveal your soul to him” (Diary 1725). Confession breaks the power of hidden struggles. 4. Do not be guided by feelings → Feelings change. The will chooses love. “Do not be guided by feeling, because it is not always in your power” (Diary 1760). Faithfulness is measured by the will, not emotion. 5. Practice humility and patience with yourself → Impatience weakens the soul. Humility strengthens it. “My daughter, know that you are what you are before Me… nothing more” (Diary 56). Jesus calls the soul to patience in weakness and growth (Diary 1488). 6. Accept suffering with love → United to Christ, suffering becomes redemptive. “You will save more souls through prayer and suffering than through activity” (Diary 1767). Suffering embraced in union with Him has real spiritual power. 7. Remain obedient to legitimate spiritual authority → Obedience protects against deception. “My will is that you should obey your confessor in everything” (Diary 639). Obedience is tied to safety in the spiritual life. 8. Avoid curiosity about the future → Trust God’s timing. Curiosity breeds anxiety. “Do not be curious about the future… I am your security” (Diary 293). He redirects the soul from curiosity to trust. 9. Reject discouragement immediately → Discouragement never comes from God. “Why are you afraid…? Do you not know that I am always with you?” (Diary 613). Jesus corrects discouragement with His presence and truth. 10. Fight with courage, knowing I am with you → Courage rooted in Christ causes fear to retreat “Do not fear… I am with you always” (Diary 586). “Fight like a knight… do not be discouraged” (Diary 450). 💬 Is your spiritual life built on discipline… or just motivation when you feel like it?

1/ 🧵🧵🧵 Amer Abu Sabila was a 24-year-old Bedouin construction worker from the Negev. He was not a soldier, he was not assigned to Sderot, and he had no obligation to stop. The footage in this thread is heartbreaking but necessary for people to bear witness to his incredible bravery, and the two girls whose lives he saved. On the morning of October 7 he was asked to drive a wounded Jewish mother and her two little girls to the police station. He got into their car and did it. The station had already been taken. The men waiting there killed him, killed her, and missed the children hiding in the back. Remember his name.
