PAKISTAN MUST STOP TORTURING LOCAL LEADERS OF PAKISTAN OCCUPIED GILGIT & BALTISTAN (PoGB) Dear Friends, After being absent from social media for over a month, I am now BACK and that too, "BACK WITH VENGEANCE". Messaging straight from the internal halls of the United Nations Human Rights Council's (UNHRC) Assembly, Geneva, Switzerland headquarters, where I am attending 63rd session of UNHRC, I made a speech castigating the state of Pakistan for its ill treatment of civil leaders of Pakistan Occupied Gilgit & Baltistan's (PoGB) Awami Action Committee, a true representative body of PoGB that draws its leaders from cross section of civil society of PoGB. I spoke about the ill treatment meted out to elderly Chairman of PoGB's Awami Action Committee - Jenab Ehsan Ali Advocate and other members - Nusrat Hussain, Mehboob Wali, Nafees Advocate and Mehar Ali, all of whom were put under "4th Schedule" of PoGB's notorious Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, a draconian law that Pakistan uses to suppress dissent in both parts of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) - Pakistan Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) as well as Pakistan Occupied Gilgit & Baltistan (PoGB). These leaders of PoGB's Awami Action Committee were arrested by the state of Pakistan and put into incarceration for nearly 2 months on false and fraudulent charges of "inciting violence" against the state of Pakistan. Even though, many of these leaders have since been released from incarceration, the state of Pakistan continues to use the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 and its infamous "Schedule 4" to threaten, harass and intimidate civilian voices of dissent in both PoGB and PoJK. As an Indian Kashmiri, I stand on august platform of United Nations' UNHRC to show my solidarity with my brothers and sisters from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir's Gilgit and Baltistan (PoGB) region, who continue to fight oppression by the state of Pakistan with courage and bravado. EMERGENCY IN PAKISTAN OCCUPIED JAMMU & KASHMIR (PoJK): "12 Kashmiri Muslims including 4 children massacred by Pakistan Rangers" There is virtually an undeclared emergency in Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir or PoJK, an Indian territory under illegal occupation of Pakistan since 1947. The rogue paramilitary force of Pakistan Army - PAKISTAN RANGERS have once again unleashed a brutal assault on innocent and unarmed Kashmiri Muslim civilians of PoJK, who are all ethnically from Pahari & Gujjar & Bakarwal communities. At least 8 Kashmiri Muslim civilians were shot dead by soldiers of Pakistan Rangers at the bus terminal of Rawalakot city just a few hours back. Initially there were reports of 3 Kashmiri Muslim men being martyred by Pakistan Rangers but latest reports cite 5 more grievously injured Kashmiri Muslim men succumbing to their injuries and the toll is expected to rise as many seriously injured men are fighting for their lives in ill equipped government hospital of Rawalakot city. These men were part of the sit-in protest group of Kashmiri Muslim civilians from Rawalakot city, who have been on peaceful protest for over 2 months against brutal crackdown on the people of PoJK by the state of Pakistan through its rogue paramilitary force called PAKISTAN RANGERS. This morning the soldiers of Pakistan Rangers came unannounced and began shooting indiscriminately on the group of Kashmiri Muslim civilians who were part of a Sit-in at the bus terminal of Rawalakot city. While 3 Kashmiri Muslim civilians died immediately ( Names: Adil Rashid, Ehtesham Yunus & Atif Jardeis) died immediately on the spot. 5 more Kashmiri Muslim civilians are reported to have succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. The soldiers of Pakistan Rangers were given orders by the federal government in Islamabad to vacate Rawalakot city bus terminal Sit-in as the same was causing "embarrassment" to the Shehbaz Sharif government internationally. The toll is expected to rise. Furthermore, there are reports of 4 children being burnt alive in a drone bomb attack on a village hamlet near Rawalakot city, the video of which is going viral. Rawalakot is the epicenter of the massive civilian protest by the people of PoJK against the suppression of rights of the people of PoJK and brutal crackdown by the state of Pakistan on Jammu & Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee or JK-JAAC, a representative body of the civil society of PoJK. JK-JAAC has been declared a "terrorist organization" by the state of Pakistan and most of its leaders have been arrested on draconian Anti-Terrorism laws. PAKISTAN ARMY FIRING ON CIVILIAN HOMES OF KASHMIRIS IN PAKISTAN OCCUPIED JAMMU & KASHMIR (PoJK): Dear Friends, Situation remains extremely grim in PoJK part of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), even as soldiers of rogue paramilitary force of Pakistan Army - PAKISTAN RANGERS continue their operation in Poonch district of PoJK, especially in and around Rawalakot town, which is administrative headquarters of Poonch district. The Poonch district of PoJK is an extended part of Poonch district of JAMMU region of India's UT of J&K, which was divided in 1947. Here in this video, AQEEL BHAI, a brave ethnic Pahari Muslim social media activist and Vlogger from PoJK shows the aftermath of heavy firing on civilian homes near Umar Farooq Chowk of Rawalakot in PoJK. In his video one can see - walls riddled with bullets, corrugated roof shot through, windows shattered, rooms and cupboards damaged. He also displays recovered bullet tips and also points to nearby positions of the soldiers of Pakistan Rangers. It is important to add that the state of Pakistan has unleashed a brutal crackdown in Poonch district of PoJK, where the city of Rawalakot and areas around it, remain an epicenter of mass protests by the people of PoJK against Pakistan state's high handed and bloody response to people of PoJK asking for their rights. Nearly 200 Kashmiris have been killed in various parts of PoJK by Pakistan Army's rogue and notorious paramilitary force - PAKISTAN RANGERS, which has been targeting ordinary people in and around Rawalakot city to force them to cease their months long peaceful protests. The Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JK-JAAC), the only representative body of the people of PoJK has been banned and declared a "TERRORIST ORGANISATION" and its leader SHAUKAT NAWAZ MIR remains in Army jail in Pakistan's Punjab province. Many leaders and workers of JK-JAAC have been arrested and thrown in jails of PoJK and Pakistan's Punjab province under Anti-Terrorism laws. The situation remains very critical.

MASSACRE IN PAKISTAN OCCUPIED JAMMU & KASHMIR BY PAKISTAN ARMY : "4 members of a Pahari Muslim civilian family of Shakdar Khan murdered by Pakistan Rangers in the Southern Bagh district of PoJK" A terrible news has come from Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir or PoJK, which the state of Pakistan calls as so called "AZAD KASHMIR". 4 members of ethnic Pahari Muslim civilian family of Shakdar Khan were killed after soldiers of dreaded PAKISTAN RANGERS - a rogue paramilitary force of Pakistan Army threw a bomb on his house, while he was away. The bomb blast completely destroyed his humble abode and killed 4 members of his family including his 80 year mother, his 40 yr wife - Shazia, his 11 year old son - Haris & 8 year old daughter - Malaika. His only surviving 17 years old daughter - Aniqa remains critically injured and fighting for survival. Even as the local puppet government of Syed Iftikhar Gilani, the So-called "PRIME MINISTER" of the So-called "AZAD KASHMIR" and his police are calling death of Shakdar Khan's family members due to "cylinder blast accident", the underground members of Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JK-JAAC), the banned civil society organization of PoJK and civilians of Bagh district of PoJK are accusing PAKISTAN RANGERS - the rogue paramilitary force of Pakistan Army for murder of family members of SHAKDAR KHAN. They are saying that rogue soldiers of Pakistan Rangers threw a grenade at their home, which triggered the blast. They also say that the family of Shakdar Khan was too poor to own a gas cylinder and the news of "cylinder blast" is a fake news propagated by Pakistani state to hide brutally of its own security forces against innocent Kashmiri civilians of PoJK. Reports say that Shakdar Khan's children were found near the doorway, their mother near the cooking area, and the grandmother on a charpoy inside the home. I strongly condemn this ghastly murder of innocent Kashmiri Muslim civilians by Pakistan Rangers and extend my condolences to Shakdar Khan. I pray for the speedy recovery of his daughter Aniqa. Mr. Shehbaz Sharif, @CMShehbaz One must be profoundly insensitive and shameless to post this statement at a time, when just few hours back, gunmen of Pakistan Rangers, the rogue paramilitary force of Pakistan Army has fired many rounds of fire on protesting Kashmiri Muslim civilians in Rawalakot city of your so called "AZAD KASHMIR" to force them to end their months long sit-in and protests against brutal violence perpetuated by the state of Pakistan. Your so called "AZAD KASHMIR", which we Indian Kashmiris call as Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) has been turned into a bloodied battle field by PAKISTAN RANGERS, who are killing innocent Kashmiri Muslims of PoJK, including women, children and elderly Kashmiri men on daily basis. And, The state of Pakistan has orchestrated fraudulent elections in PoJK and placed a Pro-Islamabad person as so called "Prime Minister" of PoJK and that too from a nominated seat for technocrats. And yet amidst all this turmoil in PoJK, you dare to shed crocodile tears for Indian Kashmiris. Mr. Sharif, Pakistan has no locus standi in India's KASHMIR Valley. You are nothing more than a colonial occupier of two territorial units of the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, namely PoJK and Pakistan Occupied Gilgit and Baltistan (PoGB). The only thing that remains as an unfinished agenda of partition is the return of PoJK and PoGB to India and their merger with Indian UTs of J&K and Ladakh, respectively. CELEBRATING DAY OF KASHMIR's ACCESSION WITH INDIA AT LINE OF CONTROL (LOC): Dear Friends, This is a live photo of me with smiling Indian Pahari Muslim kids of "Seemari" village - "the last village of India" on the Line of Control (LoC) that divides Pakistan Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) from India's UT of J&K. The Seemari village lies on the banks of Kishan Ganga river (also known as Neelum river) in Karnah Valley of KUPWARA district of North Kashmir part of India's Kashmir Valley. Today also happens to be "KASHMIR ACCESSION DAY" as it was on this day on October 26, 1947 that Maharaja Hari Singh, the then ruler of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, signed the "Instrument of Accession" with the newly independent Union of India. The document legally ceded the entire princely state of Jammu and Kashmir to the Dominion of India amidst illegal Pashtun tribal invasions ordered by Pakistan's first Prime Minister Liaqat Ali Khan to illegally annex the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan. The accession became effective the next day on October 27, 1947 paving the way for the Indian Airforce to land in Srinagar and push back Pakistani Pashtun tribal invaders. Unfortunately, Pakistan still illegally occupies two distinct enclaves of the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, namely - PoJK and PoGB. Smile on the faces of these proud Indian Pahari Muslim kids is in stark contrast to their Pahari Muslim cousins from Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, who continue to face brutal violence and daily gunfire from Pakistani Paramilitary forces stationed by the state of Pakistan to crush rebellion by Kashmiris of PoJK. Inshallah, the LoC will soon cease to exist and entire Pakistan occupied territories of PoJK and PoGB will once again merge back with Indian UTs of J&K and Ladakh, respectively. Dear Friends, OCTOBER 22nd is a DARK DAY for the people of former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir as it was on this day that newly created state of Pakistan sent Pashtun tribal invaders and Pakistan Army regulars in disguise to invade the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, with an aim to forcibly and illegally annex Kashmir and merge it with Pakistan. OCTOBER 22 (1947) PAKISTAN's KASHMIR INVASION DAY & SHAHEED MOHAMMAD MAQBOOL SHERWANI- SAVIOUR OF KASHMIR: Shaheed Maqbool Sherwani was a young Kashmiri Muslim activist who was crucified publicly by Pakistani invaders in Kashmir's Baramulla for deliberately misleading them, which facilitated the Indian Airforce to land in Srinagar, well in time and preventing capture of Kashmir by Pakistan. Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Sherwani, prevented Pakistani invaders from capturing Kashmir Valley in 1947. Maqbool Sherwani was the chief architect of the defeat of Pakistani raiders, who were sent by the newly created Islamic Republic of Pakistan to forcibly capture the Muslim majority Kashmir Valley. The invasion of Kashmir Valley by Pakistani raiders began this day on 22nd October, 1947, which is marked as "BLACK DAY" in India's UT of J&K & LADAKH. The Pakistani raiders comprised of Pashtun tribals and Pakistani Punjabi Army regulars in disguise. WHY DID KASHMIRI MUSLIMS OPPOSE PAKISTAN'S INVASION OF KASHMIR IN 1947 ? An interesting question that often arises is that, why did the overwhelming majority of Kashmiri Muslims in 1947 oppose Pakistan, a country created in the name of Islam in 1947 ? Why did Kashmiri Muslims not welcome Pakistani invaders in 1947, knowing well that Pakistani invaders would facilitate the merger of Muslim majority Kashmir with Muslim majority Pakistan ? The answer lies in terrible atrocities committed by Pakistan raiders on Kashmir's non-Muslim minorities. Kashmiri society in 1947 was tightly integrated with Kashmiri Hindu Pandits, Kashmiri Muslims and Kashmiri Sikhs, all living in a perfect harmony. An overwhelming majority of Kashmiri Muslims of 1947 were highly secular and protective of Kashmiri Non-Muslim minorities. In 1947 Pakistan sent murderers, rapists, looters by labelling them as "Mujahideens" and "Freedom Fighters" to forcibly and illegally annex Kashmir Valley with Pakistan. Pakistani rulers of newly created Pakistan at that time instructed and lured tribal Pashtun invaders to KILL ALL KASHMIRI SIKHS, KASHMIRI HINDUS & CHRISTIANS in Kashmir, loot their gold and abduct their women as war trophies, called "Maal-e-Ghanimat" (war booty under Islamic law). Pakistani rulers were totally convinced that Muslims of Kashmir valley would welcome Pakistani invaders as "liberators" and let Pakistani raiders butcher all NON MUSLIMS of Kashmir Valley. But that did not happen. Kashmiri Muslims of that time were repulsed and disgusted by stories of murders, rapes, loot and plunder by Pakistani raiders, especially in Baramulla in North Kashmir Valley. Kashmiri Muslims at that time cursed Pakistan as a country created by Satan, which targeted innocent and defenseless Kashmiri Sikhs, Kashmiri Hindus and Kashmiri Christians. Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Sherwani represented this critical mass of Kashmiri Muslim thinking of that time to tap into extreme anger amongst Kashmiri Muslims for newly created Pakistan. Kashmiri Muslims at that time refused to believe that a country created in the name of Islam would send rapists, murderers and looters to target helpless Non-Muslim minorities of Kashmir Valley. Maqbool Sherwani deliberately misguided Pakistani raiders in Baramulla from reaching Srinagar. After Pakistani invaders came to know that Mohammad Maqbool Sherwani had deliberately misguided them, he was horrifically tortured. Shaheed Maqbool Sherwani was beaten badly and then he was crucified in the main central square of Baramula town. Nails were thrust deep in both of his hands and legs. Pakistani raiders were angry with Shaheed Maqbool Sherwani for misguiding them in advance towards Srinagar. He was in the end shot dead and as many as 14 bullets were pumped in the chest of this young Kashmiri Muslim man by Pakistani raiders. TIRANGA IN INDIA'S GILGIT & BALTISTAN India's Gilgit and Baltistan ? Yes, India's Gilgit and Baltistan. KARGIL DISTRICT of India's UT of LADAKH is the only ethno-linguistic part of wider GILGIT and BALTISTAN that lies in India, rest 95% of Gilgit and Baltistan remains under illegal occupation of the state of Pakistan since 1947 and today we know that part of the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) as Pakistan Occupied Gilgit & Baltistan or PoGB. This is an image of an Indian Ladakhi/Purgi/Balti Shia Muslim man sitting on a stone barrier and holding the flag pole of the Indian national flag - "TIRANGA" against the backdrop of majestic ZANSKAR Trans-Himalayan mountain range near HUNDERMAN BROK village, situated 10 kms away from Kargil town in India's UT of LADAKH. It borders the KHARMANG district of Pakistan Occupied Gilgit & Baltistan or PoGB. INDIA considers PoGB as part of the GREATER LADAKH and an administrative unit of the Union Territory of LADAKH. What is today known as PoGB was earlier part of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir before 1947 and comprised of LADAKH WIZARAT, GILGIT WIZARAT and principalities of Hunza and Nagar. Today the state of Pakistan illegally occupies 95% of NON BUDDHIST part of former Wizarats of Ladakh & Gilgit. The union of India only has 5% of this NON BUDDHIST part of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. No one in India had even heard of the names GILGIT and BALTISTAN till very recently and the region remains a cultural mystery to most Indians. It is very difficult for a person who does not belong to PoGB to understand the extremely complex ethno-linguistic reality of this region. My ancestors were from Ishkoman Valley - a remote Valley of PoGB bordering Afghanistan/Tajikistan, who had come to Kashmir valley centuries ago in search for better economic opportunities. We were part of Ismaili "Beighs" who adopted Koshur language and culture and converted to Twelver Shia Islam and became part of the wider Kashmir Shia Muslim community. The state of Pakistan treats the region as a third class colony and its people as slaves rather than citizens of Pakistan. We in India must reach out to the people of PoGB and capture their hearts, as the people of PoGB are essentially Indian citizens.

MURDER OF INNOCENT KASHMIRIS OF PoJK BY PAKISTANI SECURITY FORCES CONTINUES This is a photo of the dead body of Chaudhary Usman Khan, an ethnic Gujjar & Bakarwal Muslim, who was a part of wider and diverse ethno-linguistic community of Kashmiri Muslims of PoJK, which Pakistan calls as so-called "Azad Kashmir". He was shot dead by PAKISTAN RANGERS - a rogue paramilitary force of Pakistan Army at the entry point between PoJK and mainland Pakistan. Pakistan Rangers also set fires to many motorcycles and other vehicles of Kashmiri protesters as many other Kashmiris were grieviously injured in the firing by Pakistan Rangers. Chaudhary Usman was part of the protesting crowd of protestors from PoJK, who had gathered at Dadyal Dhan Gali entry point between the PoJK and mainland Pakistan. The protesters had gathered on call of Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JK-JAAC) to mark October 4 as "BLACK DAY" as it was on this day last year in 2025 that so called "Agreement" was signed between JK-JAAC and regional administration of PoJK acting on behalf of the state of Pakistan as part of " 38 Point Rights Movement" started by JK-JAAC under leadership of Kashmiri leader from PoJK -Shaukat Nawaz Mir. In the so-called "Agreement" the state of Pakistan had supposedly "agreed" on all demands except reservation of seats in assembly of PoJK for Kashmiri diaspora of mainland Pakistan. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SO CALLED "AGREEMENT" ? 1. The state of Pakistan unleashed a brutal crackdown on peaceful protesters of PoJK in which over 100 innocent Kashmiris have been killed by Pakistani security forces in the last one year. 2. The state of Pakistan put a BAN on JK-JAAC and declared it as "TERRORIST ORGANISATION" and called members of JK-JAAC as "Indian Agents". 3. Arrested Shaukat Nawaz Mir, Chairman of JK-JAAC and took him to an unknown destination. His whereabouts remain unknown. 4. Not even a single agreement of the so-called "Agreement" between JK-JAAC and the state of Pakistan has been implemented so far in the last one year. The situation in PoJK remains extremely critical ever since and not a day passes without a report of excess by Pakistani Security forces on peacefully protesting protesters of PoJK.

I demand immediate release of Jenab SHAUKAT NAWAZ MIR and request UNHRC to put pressure on the state of Pakistan to stop extra judicial killing, torture and harassment of Kashmiris living in PoJK. WISHING "GANDHI JAYANTI" FROM GENEVA, SWITZERLAND Dear Friends, "Statue de Gandhi", Geneva, Switzerland I wish everyone a very happy and inspiring GANDHI JAYANTI from Geneva, Switzerland. Mahatma Gandhi is the only South Asian and the only Indian, whose statue adores public park near Lake Geneva in Switzerland. The bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi is situated near Ariana Park adjoining Lake Geneva, which houses several international organizations including the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG). This proximity underscores Mahatma Gandhi’s universal appeal for peace and justice – values that are at the core of these global institutions. The life-sized statue depicts him in his later years, walking with a staff – signifying his famous Salt March in 1930 against British salt tax. His simple attire consisting of traditional Indian dhoti and shawl reflects his humble lifestyle. The inauguration ceremony of the statue took place on November 14th, 2007 marking India’s Children’s Day as well as commemorating 60 years since India’s independence from British rule. The event was attended by prominent dignitaries including then Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon who hailed Mahatma Gandhi as ‘a source of inspiration’ for all those working towards achieving UN goals such as human rights protection and poverty eradication. The sculptor behind this masterpiece is Gautam Pal – an internationally renowned artist known for creating statues that capture both physical likeness and spiritual essence of his subjects. He has created other notable sculptures including Rabindranath Tagore in London.

Bagh was the earlier part of the undivided POONCH region of the former princely state of Jammu & Kashmir. SHAUKAT NAWAZ MIR was arrested in Dhirkot during a joint operation carried out by PAKISTAN RANGERS, a rogue paramilitary of Pakistan & taken to unknown location outside PoJK in mainland Pakistan, reportedly in General Headquarters (GHQ) Pakistan Army in Chaklala, Rawalpindi in Pakistan's Punjab province. PAKISTAN RANGERS were assisted in this task of arresting SHAUKAT NAWAZ MIR by the district administration of PoJK & the police of PoJK. It is important to add that the local government, local administration & local police of PoJK are on payrolls of Islamabad & are often seen by people of PoJK as "puppets" of Pakistan, rather than genuine representatives of the people of Kashmirs of PoJK. On the arrest of Shaukat Nawaz Mir by Pakistan Rangers, the social media handle of JK-JAAC said that the arrest of a single leader would not weaken their movement. "One's voice can be suppressed, but not resolve. One person can be arrested, but not the movement," it added. The social media handle of JK-JAAC also said Shaukat Nawaz Mir was not alone and claimed the entire Kashmiri community (of PoJK) stood with him, expressing confidence that "victory will be for justice". Urging supporters not to lose heart, the social media handle of JK-JAAC said that public movements did not depend on any single individual. "This is not just Shaukat Nawaz Mir's movement, nor solely that of the core members. This is the movement of the entire public (of PoJK)." The JAAC added that arrests, raids, imprisonment, & sacrifices had historically been part of public movements, expressing confidence that Shaukat Nawaz Mir would soon return to the people of PoJK. Until then, it said, the public (of PoJK) would remain "his voice" and carry forward his mission, adding that the movement would emerge stronger despite the arrest & that "ultimately, victory will belong to the people (of PoJK) & defeat to tyranny, arrogance & the exploitative system (of Pakistan & its puppets in PoJK)." The arrest of Shaukat Nawaz Mir comes in the backdrop of recent bloody crackdown by the state of Pakistan & its puppet administration & puppet police in PoJK Rawalakot town where the JK-JAAC had been holding a sit-in outside the Combined Military Hospital Rawalakot. The region witnessed one of its most turbulent periods in October last year in 2025 when protests led by the JK-JAAC erupted over demands for constitutional & governance reforms. Many people were killed during the unrest. The situation in PoJK remains tense after the local puppet government of PoJK banned the JK-JAAC upon orders of Islamabad & Rawalpindi, with the JK-JAAC continuing its sit-in and vowing to sustain the protest until its demands are met. MY VIDEO MESSAGE TO MY BROTHERS & SISTERS FROM PAKISTAN OCCUPIED GILGIT & BALTISTAN FROM GENEVA, SWITZERLAND My dear brothers and sisters from Pakistan Occupied Gilgit & Baltistan (PoGB), here I am standing in front of the "Broken Chair" with the building complex of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) behind me in Geneva, Switzerland. Pakistan Occupied Gilgit and Baltistan is very much part and parcel of the Union of India. It is the part of India's Union Territory of Ladakh which has been under illegal occupation of the state of Pakistan since 1947. In March this year, the state of Pakistan using its rogue paramilitary force called RANGERS shot dead over 30 innocent Shia & Ismaili protesters in Gilgit and Skardu towns of Pakistan Occupied Gilgit and Baltistan. Most of the dead were young teenage boys who were peacefully protesting against the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. The state of Pakistan did not stop at mere killing of innocent civilians of PoGB but it went ahead and imposed a brutal crackdown on PoGB's Awami Action Committee - a true representative body of the people of PoGB and arrested all of its leaders including its elderly Chairman - Jenab Ehsan Ali Advocate. He was brutally tortured in jail and denied medical care. As an Indian Kashmiri, it is my duty to raise the issue of the plight of the people of both parts of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir - namely PoGB and PoJK at international platforms like UNHRC. The state of Pakistan already destroyed peace in India's Kashmir Valley for 3 decades by sponsoring terrorism. But finally the Union Territory of J&K is, putting behind the scars of Pakistani terrorist violence behind and moving forward towards peace and development and prosperity. There is no comparison between PoGB and India's UT of J&K. Mere tourism budget of J&K and Ladakh is many times more than the entire budget of PoGB. PoGB is economically even worse than Balochistan. It gained literally nothing out of much touted CPEC- the so- called Pakistan China Economic Corridor. NOTHING. Even as India is constructing all weather single tube bi-directional 13 km long Zojila tunnel at the cost of nearly 1 billion U.S. dollars at the height of over 11000 feet an engineering marvel that will connect Kashmir Valley with Ladakh, can the bankrupt state of Pakistan build any such thing of that scale at such cost in PoGB? The so-called "Karakoram Highway" in PoGB was also not built by Pakistan but it was built by engineers of China. Pakistan has nothing to offer to PoGB. It is only interested in exploiting economic resources of the region and keeping its people poor and miserable. Look at the towns of Gilgit and Skardu. They look so under developed almost like villages from the 18th century. You can’t compare it with either Ladakh or Kashmir Valley and its gigantic infrastructure projects like Kashmir Railways and Chenab bridge. Inshallah, PoGB will very soon become part of India's UT of LADAKH in the not so distant future. RAYAN ALI - A TEENAGE SHINA SPEAKING SHIA MUSLIM FROM PoGB ( Pakistan Occupied Gilgit & Baltistan), KILLED BY PAKISTAN RANGERS IN GILGIT IN MARCH 2026 ! Dear Friends, Here you can see me standing in front of the "BROKEN CHAIR" near the United Nations Human Rights Council building during the ongoing 63rd session of UNHRC in Geneva, Switzerland. This is a photo of a young teenage Shina language speaking Shia Muslim boy - RAYAN ALI, who was shot dead in March 2026 by personnel belonging to Pakistani Army and Pakistani Paramilitary forces - PAKISTAN RANGERS in Jutial suburb of Gilgit town of Pakistan Occupied Gilgit & Baltistan (PoGB) which is part of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). RAYAN ALI originally hailed from Hopper Valley in Nagar district of PoGB. He was the only child of his family. His parents were completely devastated upon hearing the news of the death of their only child. His mother fainted upon hearing news of her son being shot dead by Pakistan Rangers. RAYAN ALI was part of the group of mourning Shina language speaking Shia Muslim mourners who were demonstrating against the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader - Ayatollah Khamenei, when they were shot at by deployed Non-Shia soldiers of Pakistani Army and Pakistani Paramilitary forces from PAKISTAN RANGERS. RAYAN ALI was not the only one. 9 other Shina speaking Shia Muslim men and boys were gunned down by Pakistani Army and Pakistani Paramilitary forces in GILGIT town in March 2026. That is not all. Further 6 more Balti language speaking Shia Muslim mourners were similarly shot dead by Pakistani Army and Pakistani Paramilitary forces in Skardu town of Baltistan region of PoGB, which borders India's Leh and Kargil districts of the Indian Union Territory of LADAKH. While Pakistani state official statistics put the number of killed Shina speaking and Balti speaking Shia Muslims in Gilgit and Skardu towns of PoGB at 13, unofficial reports put the number of dead at 38. Security forces of PAKISTAN RANGERS drawn mostly from Pakistan's Punjab province killed innocent Shia Muslim civilians without any mercy in cities and towns of Pakistan Occupied Gilgit and Baltistan in March 2026 in the name of maintaining "law and order". The people of PoGB are CITIZENS OF INDIA, who have been living under the illegal occupation of Pakistan since 1947. The state of Pakistan has committed unending acts of atrocities upon the Shia, Ismaili and Noorbakshia communities of PoGB since 1947. Not anymore. People of PoGB are not voiceless. They have found a voice in ethnic Koshur speaking Kashmiri community of India's Kashmir Valley, who along with 1.4 billion Indians stand in solidarity with our fellow Shina, Balti, Wakhi, Burushaski speaking Shia, Ismaili and Noorbakshia Muslims of PoGB, who are currently living in illegal occupation of the state of Pakistan.
