I just realised that soon you won’t be able to open up a bank account, send or receive remittances in 🇸🇴 without having an ID. Similar to the E-visa, companies will adhere to it because they don’t want to lose their licenses and international codes. Full adoption is inevitable.
The World Bank’s Hideki Matsunaga praises Somalia for enrolling 1.5 million people into @NIRASomalia’s ID system, which allows citizens to securely open bank accounts, receive social benefits, and access vital services. Its expected to scale to 15 million people by 2029.
