So sad to hear the news about Allen Bailey. Great person and gentle soul but could get after it on the football field. His story of growing up on Sapelo Island was fascinating. 97 forever..@AshtonGillotte wear it well.

A historic day for SMU Athletics!
Proud to make SMU the first Division I program in Texas to add men’s lacrosse. With the tremendous growth of the sport across our state, we see an incredible opportunity to build an elite program on the Hilltop.
Here we come! 🐎

The Polynesian words kāinga, 'aiga, & 'āina derive from the same roots & essentially means family, community, relatives, homeland, etc.
Kāinga: Tongan for kin/relatives/land.
'Aiga: Samoan for family/community.
'Āina: Hawaiian for the land & its unique relationship with its people.
Individual identity & personal success in the Polynesian culture are measured by how well you serve, protect, & uplift your community & environment.
We have a real obligation to who & where we represent.
That’s why our culture translates so well to team sports such as football, especially to the type of culture that is fostered here at SMU.

You know why I’m so proud of you? It’s because of how you handle the noise. I honestly don’t think it truly crosses your mind. I’m aware of it..I see the noise and instantly go into protective mode because I hear and see people talk about you as if they know you, but they’re clueless about the obstacles you continue to overcome with kindness.
A lot of people can learn from you. I know I do. I’ve realized that I don’t always have to go into protective mode because God has His hands on you. You are covered.
I love you kid. I’m looking forward to watching you ball tonight!❤️🧌

Proud of one of our guys @brendan_baird22❗️9 months ago he was looking for a tryout, never played football, 4 year soccer player @ SMU dealing with injuries. We didn’t have an opportunity for him until this summer but he was patient & kept working! On Saturday he hit his first extra points & touchback! #BANK
