Here’s some of my favorite unedited shots from this past weekend with @ANEWesports.
Thanks to gaming, I’ve met so many incredible people. Many of which, are like family to me. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without all the amazing people that have inspired me along my way. – at Montréal-Ouest, Québec

Really well written. Unfortunately, the replies remind me that people with a differing opinion don't read past the first sentence anyway.
In this thread I have provided 7 studies to support Mike's claims. If you have a study from the opposing side feel free to provide!

Trans women belong in ESL Impact.
The point of ESL Impact is to provide a place for competition to women where they won't be constantly challenged and criticized purely on the basis of their gender. The barriers to competition are not biological. They're societal and situational. The barrier is the fact that any young girl trying to play CS is going to encounter such a barrage of hate and misery simply for the sound of their voice that the vast majority will turn away from the game instead of enduring. The barrier is that in order to get a shot in a competitive team in ECL, Advanced, Main, really any level of serious competition a woman will need to go above and beyond what would be asked of their peers to overcome bias.
These biases and barriers exist for trans women just the same as they do for cis women. Our scene is stronger and more vibrant the more representation and opportunity we have. Let's keep building on that.

Unfortunately I have tragic Counter-Strike news to share. Carson "classified" Holt passed away. If you were a fan of CS: Source and the Zomblerz +} back then, you loved him. He was a great player, teammate, friend and son.
This is in loving memory to Carson "classified" Holt.

Replying to @JakeSucky
Because it takes minutes to understand and a lifetime to master, and the more you invest the greater your returns. The feeling when everything comes together never gets old. Whether it’s a one tap, a perfect spray, a new piece of util, an ace, or a clutch; it’s Counter-Strike.

Big brother, I wanted to let you know I gave everything I had, we once again finished 2nd in the major but there will be more chances.

.@CounterStrike’s community is just insane.
Over the last 25 years, we’ve always been the “unwanted” child of @valvesoftware. Valve’s latest release, Deadlock, fully proves this point.
“The shooter with TERRORISTS & CTs” isn’t a marketing cash cow for companies. Governments, brands, and even our parents are still looking at our beloved game with disgust in 2024.
“CS could harm our image… they’re shooting with guns… kids will become terrorists for sure…” I think we can all agree that we’ve heard it all before.
That’s probably why Valve itself doesn’t put that much effort into Counter-Strike anymore. “On paper,” it just shoudln't work in 2024.
But hell yeah, it still works. If we look at every other title, we probably have by far the best esports circuit out there. The game itself has been updated and maintained almost entirely by the community over the last 25 years.
Leagues, tournaments, maps, game modes, skins—nearly 99% of the custom content in the game is hand-built out of pure love for it.
Just look at what the community has created. We’re pulling the best numbers on Twitch, with hundreds of tournaments happening simultaneously every day. The community has made the impossible possible: keeping a game alive and relevant, even without major updates. ESL, BLAST… these are now esports empires.
When I look back at what we’ve achieved by believing in our dreams since CS’s release, I couldn’t be prouder.
Beyond the core structure of cs:
We, as the community, built this game.
We overcame being the unwanted child.
We made our own history and shaped our destiny.
And honestly, I think this is just the beginning.
And if you care, @valvesoftware, get your ass back to work and take a lesson from what this community has done for you.
