Amazing energy from child care workers and families at Queen’s Park today for the Child Care Day of Action! As one ECE put it: “If things are going to change in this sector, it will be because of us!”
A large portion of the attendees were ECE students who see a bleak future in a sector they love. To make sure they have careers they can be proud of while parents can get the care they deserve, CUPE Ontario is joining leaders in the child care sector in calling for a salary scale of at least $30-$40 an hour for ECEs and $25 an hour for non-ECE staff.
