"I lift my eyes toward the hills. Where will my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth." ~Psalm 121:1-2

There's something I love about seeing a full moon in the morning.

Today, Monday, October 26th is National Tennessee Day. If you've never been here, come visit us for our beautiful Great Smoky Mountains and dozens of great State Parks. Spend a weekend in Chattanooga, Knoxville, or any of our cities that offer so much to do. Come for the music, Goo Goo's, barbecue, hot chicken, and Jack Daniel's. Note that I said "visit"---don't move here. Come spend money and then go back home. 😄😄😄 #NationalTennesseeDay

Monday morning shout-out for an account I've come to appreciate. @TrueColour100 consistently posts beautiful images of art and photography and X needs more of that. Give her a follow, you'll be glad you did.

Good Monday morning, welcome to October 26th... On this date in 1881, the infamous gunfight at the OK Corral took place in Tombstone, Arizona. Members of the Cowboys, a loose gang of outlaws, took on lawman Wyatt Earp, his brothers, and a deputized ally Doc Holliday. The event has been famously depicted and romanticized in numerous tales and films---most notably "Tombstone"---and has become an archetype of the Wild West.

Good Monday morning all you excellent first-class people... It's a Monday and I'm choosing praise, thanking my Creator for His love for me. Today may you have strength to face every challenge that comes your way, and may you find much to be thankful for. Blessings to each of you.

Tennessee football fans are understandably suspicious of the refereeing in yesterday's game. Three touchdown passes wiped out by penalties. Here's why we're suspicious: most of us have played and/or watched football for decades. We recognize that penalties often affect your team. But what happened yesterday has never happened in college football history. Never.

Good Sunday morning and welcome to October 25th... On this date in 1780, John Hancock was elected as the first governor of Massachusetts. One of America's original founding fathers, Hancock had been the first signer of the Declaration of Independence, famously affixing his name so prominently that "King George could read it without his spectacles". Perhaps the most famous in American history, his signature spawned the colloqiualism for signing with "your John Hancock."

Good Sunday morning, welcome to October 25th... On this date in 1978, the movie "Halloween", starring Donald Pleasance and Jamie Lee Curtis, premiered. The now-classic horror thriller was made on a shoestring budget of about $300K, yet has spawned a dozen sequels and generated almost a billion dollars in revenue over the years. Trivia: the mask worn by the Michael Myers character was a spray-painted Star Trek Captain Kirk mask.

Good Sunday morning, easy rising all you first-class good-looking people... A brand new day. May this day be for rest, worship, thanksgiving, and peace. May we appreciate it as the LORD's gift to us. Blessings to each of you today.

Good Saturday morning, it's another College Football Saturday... Interesting match-ups include Utah v. Houston, Texas hosting Ole Miss, and Alabama taking on Texas A&M. Best of luck to your team, unless your mascot is a chicken. #GBO 🍊 #TennesseeFootball #GoVols

Good Saturday morning, welcome to October 24th... This date marks two of the most damaging stock-market crashes in history. In 1929, "Black Thursday" saw a 12% drop in the stock market, which eventually led to the Great Depression. In 2008, "Bloody Friday", which most of us lived through firsthand, saw 10% drops in stock markets worldwide and impacted the global economy.

Good Saturday morning, welcome to October 24th... This date coincidentally marks the deaths of two American civil-rights icons. Jackie Robinson was a baseball player best known for breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball when he debuted with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. He would also become the first black elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. He passed away on this date in 1972 at the age of 53. Rosa Parks, who was arrested for refusing to move to the back of a bus and give her seat to a white passenger in Montgomery, Alabama, became a symbol of resistance. She died on this date in 2005 at the age of 92.

Good Saturday morning, easy rising all you early birds. Say good morning, or go back to sleep for a little while. It's a great day to spend however we choose. May we remember today to give thanks to our Creator and LORD. Blessings to each of you for a smooth Saturday.

As I said before....lock him in a room full of Marines.
