Good morning! Day 13 of our dry spell as sunshine sends afternoon temperatures into the 70's. A cold front passes through while you're sleeping tonight. Could someone see a sprinkle? It trends cooler for Friday and Saturday.
Daylight continues to dwindle as the sun gets lower in the sky. The northern hemisphere tilts away from the Sun, the midday Sun stays lower in the sky, leading to fewer hours of daylight. Solar Winter, the darkest quarter of the year starts next week.
Terrific sunrise this morning! Thanks to Tracie Mojica, Becky Mills, Valori Sprouse, & Gordon Hennebert for taking time to share their pics with us.
Unseasonably warm but records look safe.

Marking 78 years this week (October 26–31, 1948), the Donora Smog Event stands as a pivotal moment in environmental history.
A severe, toxic smog trapped over Donora, Pennsylvania, claimed 20 lives and sickened more than 5,000 people—roughly half of the town's population.

Today will likely be the 11th consecutive day without rain. Just in case you are wondering the record is 39 days set during the hot & dry Summer of 1988.

Good morning! Our weather stays benign as we stay dry with above-average temperatures continuing today.
24 days this month have had a high temperature >= 60°. We will likely see high temperatures of 60°+ through the end of the month, which would cause that number to rise to 30 days. Only one year saw all 31 days with a high temperature 60° or higher and that year was 1971.
Halloween is Saturday & we gain an hour of sleep thanks to the time change Saturday night. Let the complaining begin regarding Sunday's sunset at 5:20 pm.
Monday will be the 10th consecutive day without rain, making it the longest rain free stretch of the year. We will add more dry days this week with our next drops of rain likely falling by early November.
