Thread: 1. South African media has not only failed the vulnerable. Its reporting has helped make them targets. I ask the questions the newsrooms leave unasked.

Be careful with the information you share with @rainSouthAfrica as they maintain your banking details on their backend systems illegally and unlawfully and use it to make predatory deductions from third party accounts that are not linked to their client profiles and with whom they have no debit order mandates. More rigorous regulatory interventions should be applied by by financial institutions like @CapitecBankSA to ensure that their clients do no fall victim to this kind of corporate exploitation by companies like Rain. Veronic Peremore shares her experience on Facebook in the screenshots below. @ICASA_org @obssa_ @InforegulatorSA
The screenshots below of @peremore_v's Facebook account, refer to a range of online attacks that has become a frequent and persistent occurrence. There is now a clear pattern. @rainSouthAfrica and @CapitecBankSA, please note that this unauthorised deduction from Veronic Peremore's bank account is part of a series of attacks over several years by Jonathan Oliver and Arena Holdings @Dispatch_DD which has become increasingly aggressive, and I am sure that you do not want to be part of this. So please restore the money to Veronic Peremore's bank account. You have fraudulently taken the money that belongs to a three year old toddler for his basic needs. I trust that this matter will be resolved immediately.

There's always a story behind the story companies tell.

Pushing boundaries, society's boundaries, in marketing and PR has become the norm but often at the expense of creativity. Aiming for the shock factor has become the go-to because it is obvious and easy, but it may not be creative. One example of this are events like Old Mutual's Dare Devil Run where men run in nothing but their speedos to create awareneas about prostate cancer. And I see this element has been added to the marketing strategy for the local Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer with almost daily posts of their male presenters and staff running half naked. The goal apparently is for men to take the bold move of exposing themselves and reminding them of the importance of checkups which men tend to avoid. So men are exposing themselves as a sacrifice but who are they exposing themselves to? The people on the receiving end did not agree to being exposed to this and what is their say in it? Do they have a say? These people include children who pass runners on the road or see photos on the front pages of newspapers or the social media platforms of so-called family-friendly media brands. Did the parents of these children agree to have their children watching nearly naked men broadly visible on media platforms that is supposed to be safe. No. No one agreed to being exposed to this. But there are some who merely go along with whatever is shoved in their faces and in their family's faces. No one wants to be that guy who places a damper on a campaign that is meant for charity, because it's charity afterall, and according to marketers, media and advertisers, if it's in the name of charity the public must simply bite their tongues. The problem is that we cannot do that, because what we accept now will become normalized. It will become the future normal our children will live in and the question we must ask is what other boundaries will be pushed and how far. And when we finally speak up one day, when we've collectively decided that they've gone too far they will likely tell us "but you acccepted near naked men running through your streets and in the general media, sit down, and keep quiet Karen." It might be too late then. Marketers can do better, public relations professionals can do better, and the media and advertisers have a responsibility to do better. And you, as the consumer, can do a whole lot against what is shoved in your face. You should expect better, and you deserve better. The media may be powerful, but public opinion and consent is all-powerful.

It would be great if all the Algoa FM managers participated in their pink speedos on Saturday, 31 October 20266 at the Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer, including Alfie Jay. That would certainly send a powerful message about leading from the frontline. Because afterall there is no 'I' in team.
🌧️💗 RAIN OR SHINE, WE SHOW UP! Sam and Damian hit the streets of KuGompo for the #PinkStreak, and not even the rain could stop them!💗 If they can brave the rain, we can too! Join us on 31 October for the #AlgoaFM #BigWalkforCancer, presented by @isuzusa. #connect

Here is the video I made the last time my Facebook account was mass reported. I've now had to create a fourth Facebook account because the other three were all mass reported within this month of October 2026. 🧵 My account has been mass reported each time I posted something or commented on anything related to The Herald, Algoa FM, Arena Holdings, Jonathan Oliver, Mario Peremore, Retief Odendaal, Renaldo Gouws or the elections in general with specific focus on the local media's lack of coverage of the local elections. I am now accepting these attacks on my accounts as physical threats and I will be dealing with it as such. Please note that some of the people mentioned above have a monetary interest in silencing me particularly Arena Holdings, Jonathan Oliver and Mario Peremore as they all have insurance policies on my life and stand to benefit upon my death. In fact I received an email from Mario Peremore in early October 2026 warning me about posting about politics and attempting to silence me by stating that I must refrain from posting on social media especially with regard to politics and the media. I will be reporting the next attack on my Facebook account or any social media account to the Police for further investigation. My last account was attacked after I posted about my divorce and how the other party, Jonathan Oliver, is keeping me trapped in a marriage I no longer want to be in. This attack on my account also comes minutes after I emailed Jonathan Oliver, his attorney and the registrar of the divorce court (regional) Luthando Sihamba, that I am waiting for her and her client's response on whether or not they want to settle outside of court so that the divorce can be finalised soonest.
Watch my video below on how my social media accounts have been under attack with the latest attack on my Facebook page simply because I asked questions about the role of the local media in the upcoming municipal elections.

3. My second Facebook account was mass reported after I pointed out that Retief Odendaal's visit to Walmer Township was only attended by a small group of people even though thousands of people live there, which made me question how the people in this area and similar types of areas will be able to make an informed decision on 4 November 2026 when they have limited or no access to new information due to the lack of local media coverage on the elections. Local newspapers and radio are more widely accessible in the most remote parts of the city. I questioned again the lack of local media coverage of the elections, and I indicated how with a lack of information people might opt for the vote they made in the last elections in the absence of any new information. Now what I am advocating for is more local media coverage, and any individual running for council in these elections would have appreciated this line of questioning. I'd understand if the media does not appreciate me questioning it. However, my probing does not appear to be appreciated by the political parties either, and my question is why. Here is a screenshot of the post I made about Retief Odendaal's visit to Walmer Township.

4. Then my third Facebook account was mass reported today, 20 October 2026, after I posted about my divorce to Jonathan Oliver and how I am he is keeping me trapped in a marriage I don't want to be in by prolonging the divorce process. I emailed him and his attorney and the registrar of the divorce court. I also posted on Saturday about how I am being abused by proxy in other places I attend.

So on Saturday this pug referred to in the post below, known as Desmond Booysens, a 'hospitality' usher at Holy Spirit Catholic church decided that he was going to discriminate against my son and I. This will be the second time he has done this. The first time he did it was the end of September 2026. On Saturdaymy son counted until four in church in a whisper level voice (so not loud), and this man rudely and abruptly told me that I must take my son out of the church because he was disrupting the church. Please note that we were sitting at the back of the church, at the exit. And we were in the last 30 minutes of a hour and a half mass. Therefore mass was almost over and my child had been sitting still for an hour already which is a major ask from a two-year-old boy. It was clear that this Desmond Booysens was literally lurking and waiting behind us for the first opportunity that my child would open his mouth so that he could jump on us. As it was a clear lie that he was telling, I told him I would not be going outside with my son. A few minutes later a man who was under the supervision of his mother made loud noises in church, and I asked this Desmund Booysens whether he will be telling this mother to also leave the church with her child, and he did nothing, proving that he was indeed discriminating against my child and me, targeting us and he was indeed disrupting us. Later my two-year-old son spoke again softly and briefly, and this Desmund Booysens again told me in a rude, disrespectful and aggressive manner that I must leave the church with my child. This is after he allowed this other man to disrupt the church without once telling his mother who was supervising him to leave the church. I am using this as an example to show how he was discriminating against my son and I, because I never once expected this mother to leave the church with her child. Let's be clear Mr. Pug, you are using your position in church to do personal favours. These favours result in you disrespecting a mother and a little two-year-old toddler, a mother who is busy raising her child in the church and teaching him the ways of the church. Your goal is clearly to disrupt my son and my experience in church with the hopes of driving us away from church and that is not the work of God, it is the work of the Devil. Your surname is familiar, and I can link you to a couple of people who is behind your behaviour. It is apparent that your behaviour towards me is very personal. You are not acting in your capacity as a hospitality usher but instead you are abusing your position. Your ties will be exposed in due course. Stay away from my child and me.

I started the process of applying for a divorce in November 2025, and to date the process is still not finalised. After meeting with my then attorney on 27 November 2025 to finalise my pleadings in which I would have served as the plaintiff, I am served that same day within an hour of returning home from Legal Aid with pleadings from the other party, thus positioning him as the plaintiff and myself as the defendant. This placed him and his attorney in the position of leading the divorce, but what has ultimately resulted in them abusing their position to delay the divorce. The other party,Jonathan Oliver, and myself have been living apart since August 2024, and seriously started discussing divorce in March 2025. Last week I asked Jonathan how far he is with the divorce and he acted like someone who was not actively pursuing divorce like he didn't know what I was talking about. I sent him a message below on 12 October 2026.

Please read these screenshots of this Facebook post by Veronic Peremore. People need to be alert to these kind of things being done by family members and people in their neighbourhood to vulnerable members of society, especially people who live alone. They operate similar to syndicates where multiple people work together to compromise the person's safety, health and wellbeing so that the person can meet their demise sooner.

Vote for DA on 4 November 2026. We must vote the DA into power and hold them to each and every promise they have made. If the DA fails us we will do to them what we did to the Apartheid government.

It does not appear that any political party is actually campaigning, in particular the DA. Everything they do is surface-level for appearances only. No one seems bothered that there has been no significant media cover by the local media entities in Nelson Mandela Bay on the elections that would reach residents in the most remote parts of the Bay and help everyone make an informed decision on 4 November 2026. It appears all political parties are aiming to keep the ANC in power by keeping the poorest residents uninformed so that they would opt for their last vote, which could likely be the ANC or one of their coalition parties.

ATTACK THE MESSAGE? OR DISCREDIT THE MESSENGER? I promised myself I would never dignify anything published by @News24 with a formal response. But its hit piece on Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma demands one. Let me be clear: this is not an endorsement of Jacinta or the March and March movement per se. It is a defence of her right, as much as mine and that of every other South African, to hold this government to account on issues about which we feel passionately. What the editors at News24, huddled around their editorial cauldron, concocting the latest batch of ideological gruel to serve their readers, appear to have missed is one rather inconvenient fact: Jacinta's message resonates with millions of South Africans. And not one of them seems remotely interested in asking the most obvious question of all: Why? Instead, we are served a steaming bowl of hyperbole, histrionics and emotionally charged sound bites. Anything, it seems, to avoid confronting the substance of the discontent. So let us strip away the theatrics and get to the heart of the matter. This government has, from the outset, abdicated its responsibility to serve the best interests of the South African people. And the government we have today - the entire political establishment, not merely one party or faction - has become a malignant mass, a festering cancer on the body politic. The real story isn't that Jacinta is saying things that make News24 uncomfortable. It's that millions of South Africans are listening - because, after decades of broken promises, corruption, incompetence and political indifference, they have every reason to be angry. And perhaps that is the question News24 should be asking itself: not why Jacinta is speaking, but why so many South Africans feel she is worth listening to. Doxxing Jacinta, threatening her, and attempting to portray her as dangerous, as though she herself represents the problem in South Africa, is an exercise in creative deflection. It is far easier to vilify the messenger than confront the message. Far easier to intimidate a citizen than answer the questions she is asking. And far easier to manufacture a public enemy than acknowledge the failures of those who actually hold power. When the spotlight falls on the messenger rather than the message, ask yourself what, exactly, they are trying to distract you from.

My Facebook account has been reported again after making the below post on my Facebook account last night at around 22h00 on 10 October 2026.I also replied with the same comment on DA mayoral candidate, Retief Odendaal's Facebook page. This is the second time my Facebook account was reported, and it is my second Facebook account that I've had to create. The last time it was reported was on Monday, 5 October 2026 and my last post then was of a Sowetan Live event poster I shared of a dialogue the newspaper was going to host on 8 October 2026 with the mayoral candidates for NMB. I questioned why the conversation on the local elections was not being led by the local media in NMB like The Herald and Algoa FM. Sowetan, Business Day and TimesLIVE then cancelled the event on 6 October 2026. I noticed on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, that comments from my Facebook account and my sisters's account was being filtered out or removed from the DA NMB Retief Odendaal Facebook page.
I am concerned about how many people especially in townships will have access to the relevant information on the various political parties that will enable them to make an informed decision on 4 November 2026. The DA appears to be doing a lot of visits to township areas like this visit to Walmer Township, which is a perfect example. Walmer Township has thousands of people staying there, but based on these photos it does not look like a lot of people attended the DA's info session. I've barely seen any media coverage in the local media on the elections that details information on the various parties, especially by the most prominent media entities like The Herald and Algoa FM, and other local media, that would help people in townships make an informed vote on 4 November 2026.

So the Communist Party is now appealing for fair election media coverage? The whole point of communism is to suppress information and freedom of choice. And in true Herald style they gaslight their audience by publishing this article to make it appear like they have NOT been working all along with the ANC and their affiliate parties like the SACP to not cover the elections broadly in order to suppress access to information to the majority of Nelson Mandela Bay residents especially the poorest, all done with the aim of ensuring that people opt for their last vote. And their last vote is likely the ANC and their coalition parties. Without any new information, how can anyone make an informed decision on 4 November 2026? I have been calling out the local media including The Herald and Algoa FM these past two weeks for their lack of media coverage on the elections, and the importance of local coverage, and interestingly none of the other parties, not DA, or VF Plus, or ACDP or anyone else called out the local media and neither did any of them appear bothered by the lack of local coverage. In fact, I was berated online by a VF Plus candidate and his groupies. It thus appears that all the political parties are aware of the no-local-media-coverage agenda. Now that we are witnessing how complicit the local media in NMB is with the suppression of information in order to sway the vote in a predetermined direction on 4 November 2026, no one must dare point fingers at the poor after the elections stating that they are the reason they are suffering because they voted for it. Because the destruction of the Nelson Mandela Bay will be the sole responsibility of the local media and all the political parties who have conveniently remained silent and even attempted to silence people like me who spoke up about this. theherald.co.za/opinion/colu…
