Our governor and secretary of state are appealing the judge’s ruling. This overwhelmingly-Republican Senate district deserves representation. Our Republican-led Senate deserves full membership. I hope Republican voters remember this. #ARpx
A judge has ruled in favor of @Colt_Shelby in his lawsuit against Governor Sanders. Shelby sued the governor after she set a special election to fill Senate District 26, the seat left vacant by Senator Gary Stubblefield's passing, for next June. (1/2)

Whatever our attorney general’s opinion, the dates set for these special elections are unacceptable. The general rule for any governor, any party, any district, should be, “How quickly can we restore representation?” If the AG needs to weigh in, you probably did it wrong.
#ARPX 🚨 Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin’s office has filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit challenging the timing of the Senate District 26 special election. The state argues Gov. Sanders acted within her legal authority in setting the June 6, 2026 date, calling claims of wrongdoing “unsupported.” The brief also cites sovereign immunity, saying courts can’t overrule the Governor’s discretion on election timing. Shelby's attorney, Jennifer Sanderfer stated in response: "I'm reviewing the Governor’s filings, and will respond in due time directly to the Court.” Read the full filing here: ow.ly/x8n350XaOXM #ARNEWS #ARLEG

NEWS: Rep. Jessie McGruder’s bill to EXPAND EARLY VOTING ACCESS has been SIGNED INTO LAW by Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders. This is GREAT for democracy and for the Natural State 🎉 ICYMI: In 2024, the local election commission in Rep. McGruder’s district tried to shut down early voting locations where a majority of minority voters lived in West Memphis— potentially tipping the scales in 2 of the MOST COMPETITIVE State Representative races in Arkansas. West Memphis voters took it to the Supreme Court, won their case, and elected Rep. Jessie McGruder, an educator and public servant. NOW, Rep. Jessie McGruder is fighting to ensure NO ONE in Crittenden County is disenfranchised— and he has successfully passed his bill that MANDATES ALL CITIES with more than 15,000 people will have an early voting location in their community. THIS BILL PASSED BY ONE VOTE IN THE STATE SENATE 👀 Democrats fought hard to expand access to voting, and we’re so so glad this bill is now LAW. THANK YOU REP. MCGRUDER for fighting for a fairer Arkansas ⚖️

My brother and I spent the first few years of our lives in a two-bedroom mobile home that eventually came to house six of us. Today we started our first business together. I would run through a wall to make that Dream a reality for everyone.

The fact that House State Agencies is meeting at almost 9:00p on the very last night of session is a great reason to bring back the bill-filing deadline.

Real Question: has anyone seen a cost breakdown on the disallowed foods versus their healthier alternatives? I’m less worried about policing health than I am the price of fruit loops for breakfast compared to bacon and eggs.
Today I was the first governor to submit a waiver to the Trump administration to end taxpayer-funded candy and soft drinks in food stamps. Taxpayers should not be subsidizing poor health on the front end and paying for it on the back end with skyrocketing healthcare costs and federal debt. Let’s Make America Healthy Again!

We’ve confirmed with several legislators that prison funding is dead for this session. A battle won but the war rages on. Celebrate, rest, recharge, and gear up for whatever comes next.

Hey @TomMarsLaw am I reading this right? We can just directly attack all their unconstitutional bills directly in appellate court immediately after they pass them? Standing be damned? arkleg.state.ar.us/Home/FTPD…

SB354, $750M appropriation for new prison, fails for fifth time in Arkansas Senate on a 21-9 vote (measure needed at least 27 votes). But picks up a couple votes from last time. #ARleg

Remember, if you’ve received a text claiming you owe money to a toll road, don’t fall for it! Arkansas does not have toll roads. Stay vigilant and don’t click any suspicious links. Please see the release below from the Attorney General’s Office.
I am issuing a Consumer Alert to Arkansans about the recent resurfacing of toll road scams. Last year, Arkansas saw a new "smishing" scam—a combination of "SMS" (texts) and "phishing"— come to our state. In these scams, criminals attempt to steal consumers’ personal information and trick consumers into handing over funds by impersonating a state toll service. We’ve received numerous reports that this scam is again on the rise. If you get one of these texts, please fill out the robocall reporting form on my website, and do not send payment to any entity that only contacts you via text. tinyurl.com/49nv7p2m #arnews

Hey, Arkansas! SB376 is on the AR Senate Floor tomorrow. Amendment did NOT close the loophole. The bill enables secret meetings behind closed doors. Tell your Senator to vote NO. @ARPressAssoc

This headline is a lousy reflection of an article about 1 Democrat in 1 encounter. I’m getting real tired of intentional misinformation - whether it’s for political strategy or to get attention. Just be accurate.
