I want to extend my warmest and most urgent congratulations to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on his monumental and deeply important victory in Brazil. This election was not just a win for the people of Brazil, but a historic triumph for the working class, marginalized-

Senator Susan Collins helped pass Trump's Big Beautiful Bill, which took a sledgehammer to health care across the country. Now, pregnant women in Maine are getting stranded without hospitals to give birth in. We spoke directly with moms affected by this crisis.

The job’s not done, neighbors! ✨ Lt. Gov Sabina Matos and I are working toward an affordability agenda that puts Providence’s working families first and we need you to make a plan to vote this election: early voting at City Hall is open now through Monday, November 2nd, or vote on Election Day: Tuesday, November 3rd. Together, we can build a Providence and a Rhode Island for all 🦋

Meta's suspension of No Kings account was a complete failure. Early voting was up 51% in ZIP codes with a No Kings event compared to 2022. October 17 marked a historic milestone for voter turnout despite attempts to suppress this action.

There are many different ways to build union power – one of them is voting! With worker champions in office, our union has collective bargaining rights, worker safety laws, access to Project Labor Agreements, and so much more. But those worker champions need to be elected by us! On Tuesday, November 3rd, get out and vote for your union’s endorsed candidates.

As AI firms recklessly unleash hacking agents across the internet, longstanding cybersecurity vulnerabilities are being exploited with even greater ease and frequency. Hackers who compromise accounts or expose sensitive data can upend people’s lives. This is not happening in a legal vacuum, and businesses across sectors face real legal duties. At @FTC we routinely brought lawsuits against firms whose lax data security practices led to major hacks, exposing people to identify theft, stalking, and serious data misuse. 1. AI firms that are unleashing hacking agents could be held liable for engaging in “unfair or deceptive” practices under the FTC act and state UDAP laws, as well as other statutes. 2. Businesses whose systems get hacked because they’ve failed to follow basic security protocols may also be liable for failing to implement reasonable safeguards. Bad actors may be the ones exploiting these vulnerabilities, but that doesn't absolve businesses from having allowed the vulnerabilities to persist in the first place. Here is a list we published of some basic security vulnerabilities businesses have a legal obligation to patch up: ftc.gov/policy/advocacy-rese… 3. CEOs can also be personally liable for presiding over lax data security practices, as we held in our case against Drizly: ftc.gov/news-events/news/pre… 4. Lastly, businesses that suffer hacks or breaches must alert any affected parties with clear disclosures that are timely, accurate, and actionable. Failing to disclose security breaches can also violate the law: ftc.gov/policy/advocacy-rese…
