Branding by our designer @margauxtell
1/ How a startup design team should grow,
from 1 to 10 designers.
5 stages, each one unlocked by a specific bottleneck.
Then a design engineer:
half designer, half engineer, connecting Figma, code and AI tools.
Then squads by product area.

Most startups hire designers in the wrong order.
First hire: a “UI” designer to make it prettier.
The UI kit already does that.
What’s missing is the flows.
We wrote the 5 stages, 1 to 10 designers, and the signal to move to the next one.

🤖 Made with AI
This morning I updated our agency site on Webflow (moving to Astro very soon)
2 hours. Work that sat in the backlog for 6 months.
My process now: Figma > AI > live website.
When you have the design vision and nothing between you and production, it’s pure joy
rainboow.fr is my lab right now.
Design, motion, 3D, code.
Idea to live in an hour.
Never shipped this fast in 15 years.
Fun fact:
a few years ago I designed emotes for a Twitch channel
Best job I’ve ever had.
I smiled the whole time.
Users pressed “Unlock” up to 10 times on a door access app.
The delay can’t be made faster, and the app showed nothing during it.
So we designed 4 clear states around the wait.
You can’t always remove the wait. You can remove the doubt.
