The biggest surprise from the first season of the @moonpay @XGames League had nothing to do with the tricks.
Rather, it had everything to do with what competition reveals about people.
I expected world class athleticism. I did not expect to leave with a different perspective on competition itself.
Watching a true meritocracy is incredibly refreshing.
It did not matter whether the event featured men or women; or whether the athlete was 11 or 30.
Everyone competed on the same stage, played by the same rules and performance determined the outcome.
When talent has an equal opportunity to rise, everyone benefits.
But what surprised me even more was what happened after the competition.
The fiercest competitors were often the biggest supporters of one another.
Athletes celebrated great performances, even when they came from competing teams. They stayed long after events ended to sign autographs, take selfies and connect with fans. Their humility was every bit as impressive as their athleticism.
It reminded me that the best competitors often become the best colleagues.
They understand that helping someone else succeed does not diminish their own success. Confidence does not require insecurity. In fact, the strongest competitors elevate everyone around them.
The experience also reinforced something I have believed for a long time: There is a profound difference between an audience and a community.
Audiences consume. Communities contribute.
Audiences show up for moments. Communities stay for the journey.
@XGames has always had an incredible community and, under @JeremyBloom11's leadership with the new League format, that community has an even stronger foundation to grow.
Great brands are rarely built from scratch. More often, they are rediscovered, invested in and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The content reflects that same philosophy.
Whether someone wants a single highlight, an entire event or a deep dive into athlete stories, statistics and performance, the experience meets fans where they are. Great sports properties are no longer built around a single broadcast. They are built around thousands of moments that allow every fan to engage in the experience on their own terms.
As the first season concludes, @moonpay could not be prouder to serve as the Title Sponsor of the @XGames. We believe this League format creates more opportunity for athletes, deeper engagement for fans and a stronger foundation for the future of the sport.
We are equally grateful to our partners at @Ledger, @exodus, @TrustWallet, @MetaMask, @BalletCrypto, @BitPay and @RaposaCoffeeCo as well as our friends within the @solana ecosystem - @marccolcer, @fluffyonchain, @sunnymaanz and @NeverGoon - for joining us on this journey as we brought real world crypto experiences to the Games. Together, we will continue to innovate, improve and expand what is possible!
Finally, congratulations to @JeremyBloom11 and the entire X Games team.
You did more than evolve an iconic sports property, you demonstrated that the strongest competition is never just about winning. It is about creating an environment where everyone has the opportunity to perform at their very best.
That is how sports grow; communites grow; and, even companies grow.

Another judging controversy has popped up at the Olympics.
Is AI the answer to officiating fairness in sports?
Former skier and football star Jeremy Bloom believes so - and his company has developed the tech to make it happen.
