Paapa Essiedu Speaks Out About “Black Snape” Reaction
“Obviously, my priority is the work. I wouldn’t take this job on [otherwise], but I walk into it with open eyes. I understand the broad spectrum of what the reaction to what we’re doing means, and I take that mantle on with an open and full heart. I’ve also been blown away by a lot of the support and well-wishes and excitement.” -Paapa Essiedu

Amazon Releases Rings of Power Season 3 Trailer
“Amazon has finally released the official trailer for the upcoming third season of The Rings of Power, though it's unclear who was looking forward to this if they even remembered it existed.”

HBO’s Harry Potter Series Budget Reportedly Higher Than All Eight Movies
“Reportedly, the first season's budget reached £147.4 million (about $196 million USD) halfway through its production. The most expensive films in the Warner Bros. series are Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows – Part 1 & 2, costing around $250 million each; it appears HBO may give Warner Bros. a run for their money in terms of spending.”

An old ape named Shift finds a dead lion's skin floating in a pool. He sits down with a needle and thick thread, and every time a bird flies over, he stops sewing and waits for it to pass. He knows exactly what he's making, and he doesn't want anyone in the sky to see it.
C.S. Lewis wrote that scene in 1956, in the last Narnia book. It's the one most of us never got to as kids. I only read it a few years ago.
When his friend Puzzle the donkey comes back from market, Shift ties the skin onto him and tells him to stand in the shadows. Then he tells the whole of Narnia that Aslan has come back.
Lewis tells you how it works. No one who had ever seen a real lion would have been taken in for a moment. It only works from far away, at night, by firelight, with the donkey kept quiet while the ape does all the talking.
Puzzle gets scared and says what if the real Aslan comes. Shift laughs and says Aslan never turns up nowadays. Right then there's a crack of thunder and the ground shakes under them. Puzzle says it's a warning. Shift says yes, it's a sign, and it means Aslan approves.
Now Gerwig's Aslan has Bowie's face and Meryl Streep's voice. The lion who sang a whole world into being in The Magician's Nephew, the voice so deep it shook the ground, talks like someone else now.
Shift did the same thing. He kept the lion's face and changed who was talking.
Lewis is gentle with the donkey, and I want to be too. Puzzle isn't evil. He's tired and trusting, and someone he believed kept telling him he wasn't clever enough to judge for himself. Lewis saves his anger for the ape with the needle.
A dad told me he was reading that first chapter to his kids and had to put the book down, because it read like these Hollywood headlines.
Pick up the real books. Read all seven out loud, every night, until your kids know that voice. A child who has heard the real lion can't be sold a donkey in a skin.
C.S. Lewis’ family has issued an official statement supporting Greta Gerwig’s Narnia and praising her lifelong passion for the books. bit.ly/4Buu39d

This is awful and I hate it. Namely because Gerwig took all the fear out of it.
What does that mean?
Originally, Uncle Andrew TRICKED the children into touching the rings.
He was a coward who wouldn’t use the rings himself because he didn’t know exactly what would happen. So he sent a Guinea Pig and Polly through first.
Diggory, DESPITE his fear chose to go and rescue Polly.
The ENTIRE THEME of the book is being TERRIFIED but doing the thing anyway.
• Terrified to use the rings
• Terrified of new worlds
• Terrified your mom is going to die and that Aslan won’t help you save her
Gerwig has erased the heroism from The Magicians Nephew.
Nobody is afraid
Nobody is evil
Nobody can be a hero

“Director Greta Gerwig said she wanted to make her version of Narnia ‘rock ‘n roll,’ and this trailer certainly depicts that.”

I always thought Hocus Pocus was fake.
Turns out the three Sanderson Sisters are alive and well and live in Massachusetts.
