There’s no carrot large enough to make me “move to San Francisco to build @Bento into a billion dollar company”.
I feel like we’ve lost appreciation of people building profitable, lifestyle businesses.
I’m content here with my family in Japan and proud of what I’ve built. I don’t need more than what I have right in this moment.
You can pay Nabeel to migrate you to @Bento from any other platform and then he will print you money by sending lots of email. Isn’t that cool?
Railway > Northflank > now Trigger — known k8 exploit? @PlanetScale got emergency patches last night so I imagine related.
There has been a security incident at Trigger.
We have emailed the owners of all impacted accounts.
We’ll be providing more information but for now the focus is on giving the impacted account owners what they need to mitigate.

Same and works like a charm
Have an always on agent learn patterns and your docs to handle most inquiries automatically
I use @Bento Chat, Bento’s AI agents, and Discord. That’s it.
This testimonial reads like a sales letter which is why you should/can hire Nabeel for copywriting.
This is one of the reasons I canceled BerserkerMail... after canceling Kit to move to BerserkerMail... and moved all of my lists to Bento.
Berserkermail support was only available Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm EST. If you needed help outside that window, you were SOL.
The cancellation reason I gave their support team:
“I'm canceling because your last software update was over a year ago. And I've been getting emails for a stock trading offer from BerserkerMail. It's your list and you can email any offer you want. But when it's a customer list, and your customers haven't seen any new updates in over a year, it looks a little weird. Almost as if you have given up on improving BerserkerMail and have moved on to selling the next thing. I have already migrated my list to Bento.”
I also sent this newsletter to my list...
Why I'm moving off BerskerMail (5 reasons)
1.
** Note from Nabeel: Jesse built this feature in Bento at my request so BerserkerMail's only real selling point other than “Ben Settle uses it” is now redundant **
BerserkerMail does one thing better than any other ESP, and that's sending a daily email broadcast with the minimum amount of steps possible. That's the only thing I use it for because that's the only thing it does. The automations I've set up here are perfunctory and I don't use it to do any serious business stuff. I'm basically using it to drive traffic to my other businesses that run on a different tech stack.
If it is possible to do advanced stuff with BerserkerMail, I am yet to find out, because in order to learn how to use the software, I must attend their office hours since they have no knowledge base or help documentation to speak of. So you're telling me I have to show up to a group call that's hosted once a week at a time that's inconvenient for me, and wait my turn behind other customers asking “how do I set up a form?”, to have the customer support rep take several minutes to explain a feature that would've taken me 60 seconds to read if you had a knowledge base article for it?
2.
Two years ago I wrote a detailed review, from the perspective of an email marketing practitioner, listing all the areas where I felt they could improve. Instead of taking my feedback seriously, their response was the founder writing a long attempted refutation in the BerserkerMail Facebook group. Even the shortcomings they did admit to, they dismissed. Two years later, nearly all of these flaws still exist and haven't been addressed.
I even suggested solutions, which they ignored. For example, I said, why not transcribe all your office hours calls, and hire a VA to repurpose them into knowledge base articles with step-by-step instructions and screenshots. Two years, that's 104 office hours recordings. They could've had hundreds of articles teaching customers how to use the software. As of today, they have ZERO articles.
And you know what's funny? The link snippet labeled “Blog” in their search result redirects to Daniel Throssell's newsletter opt-in page because Throssell has named his landing page slug “blog.” And because all berserkermail landing pages are on subdomains, search engines are reading [subdomain] dot berskermail dot com/blog and thinking it's the BerserkerMail blog. This wouldn't have happened if they had their own blog. And I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't even noticed it yet. That's how bad BerserkerMail is at marketing their own product. My review is the second organic result for BerserkerMail after their website. And I'm sure my criticisms have lost them A LOT of customers. In my review I say, if you fix any of these issues, please let me know so I can update my review to reflect the improvements. Ignored.
3.
BerserkerMail has not published any software updates in over a year. I even emailed support about it. This was their reply.
“There is no need to be concerned; your current version is correct. Release v1.0.154 is the currently implemented user version for all BerserkerMail clients, and it was indeed rolled out a year ago. But, this is a unique reminder to us that perhaps an update is in order! So thank you!”
That was months ago. No new updates have been released since then.
4.
Instead of improving the BerserkerMail software for paying customers, the whole team has been busy promoting a stock trading offer by the founder for the past few weeks. They've even been emailing the BerserkerMail list about it. Okay, that's fine, it's your list and you can mail any offers you want. But can you ship some software updates too? I don't need to learn how to trade options from you. The WordPress newsletter-to-blog integration still doesn't work after 2 years.
5.
A few weeks ago I was trying to implement an advanced-ish automation in Bento and having trouble with it. I posted in the Bento Discord asking for help. 24 hours later, Jesse Hanley, the founder of Bento, CODED AND SHIPPED A NEW FEATURE, that would make setting up automations much easier for me and every Bento user. He didn't write a long refutation essentially telling me I'm retarded and he knows better (what the founder of BerserkerMail did in response to my feedback.) Instead, Jesse recognised:
“If an experienced email marketer is having this problem, other users will too. It's simple enough for me to code an alternative that will be easier to implement.”
That was the proverbial straw. Seeing this response from Jesse made me realise,
“I don't have to live this way (with BerserkerMail).”
BerserkerMail likes to talk up their customer service and how amazing their support reps are. In my experience, it's an exaggeration. The support is OK. Table stakes. And once you've experienced Bento's customer support and the direct access you have to the guy who wrote the software, nothing else even comes close.
If you want to set up a Bento account, it's self-serve. But there's an option to book a demo with Jesse. I recommend doing that. And tell him Nabeel sent you. I have an affiliate link but I don't use it because I love Bento so much and I want Jesse to make the most money possible and take all of these clowns' market share.
I am working extremely hard to provide INDUSTRY LEADING DELIVERABILITY at the LOWEST PRICES. Look at these results!
Our migration to @PostShiba is complete! It performs as well as the big email MTAs but way cheaper! The numbers speak for themselves.
Whether you're sending 100 emails to millions we got you! teapawt.net/ronaldlangeveld/status…
Still super early days, but delivery rate on PixelGlass is so good, thanks @PostShiba

This tweet was a wake up call. I now have an always on agent combing through suspicious logs through @Mapledotdev 24/7.
Checking every CVE and rolling our updates and patches within minutes.
If you don't get on this ASAP yngmi. The next 12m will be absolutely wild.
RE: @opencode drama — everyone needs at MINIMUM 1x always on agent scanning logs for weird activity starting today if you're not already doing this.
It's honestly a warfare out there and worse than ever before. I'm learning SO MUCH via my @bot security agent as he combs through @BetterStackHQ logs multiple times per day.
Similar to @DHH "we can fix everything", we can SECURE everything!
After sitting on this video and my thoughts a bit more I kinda feel like we're in a global recession (govts numbers are fudged) and will likely be in this cycle for the next 4 years. Act accordingly.
Jesse has been doing this for his customers for a long time. But AI accelerated his support to mere hours or less.
My most recent request for mobi attachments via the postshiba api was live in under an hour after requesting it.
It was so fast Claude refused to believe that was even possible.
Sometimes @IanLandsman tells me this isn't happening and smart people will never do this but I consider Joel VERY smart.
Replying to @jessethanley @Bento
i'm cancelling Front Monday actually and we are moving email to PostShiba 💅
I use @Bento Chat, Bento’s AI agents, and Discord. That’s it.
> customer asks something reasonable
> copy and paste it to agent
> click "merge"
> write "done" to customer
> suddenly in the top 1% of SaaS businesses for support
the bar is so low lol
Whether you pay me $5/mo for PostShiba or $10k/mo for @Bento you will get AMAZING service and always feel HEARD.

amazing
Yes — it is well known that @Bento customers are the BEST customers. CREAM OF THE CROP. They understand the value of what I've made and as a result make LOTS OF MONEY.
Some people (me) are calling this THE GREAT DIVIDE
I'm starting to sense a divide in the tech industry:
- People thriving on autonomy who are reinventing how they work and what tools they use with AI: LOTS of work, but they're enjoying it and getting very efficient
- People used to being mentored / trained / or simply told what to do and how. Frustrated with the lack of guidance from management on what to do with AI; also frustrated by seeing some of their peers thriving; increasingly bitter about AI and the state of the industry, as a whole
Neither group seems to be aware that there's another group, or have empathy for the other group
