76 sacrificed children found from the 8th century Chimu Empire in Peru. All have had their hearts removed. Probably sacrificed to ensure good harvests for the whole community for years to come.

This is a mist read thread!! How do we know Hadrian built the wall and the history of the longest footnote ever!
It's Friday. Have some history.
So you know Hadrian's Wall? Well for over 1000 years everyone thought it was built by someone else.

Are We There Yet? Not really. Maybe halfway, at the best case scenario by @lumamendes link.medium.com/CzPSg082stb Thanks to @sebchan for the heads-up on this interesting project
Agree this should definitely be a paid role, especially if it will require a contract to maintain data confidentiality.
Interesting choices @V_and_A this week. Looking for a volunteer to deliver what is inarguably core IT department activity FOR FREE.
It is never acceptable for volunteers to deliver a level of role that would reasonably expected of paid staff.

Tomb the size of a New York city block being excavated at Zhangzhou, dating to the Shang Dynasty. Among other treasures, a rare gold mask, maybe confirming early belief in the Chinese idea of the invincible golden man. thehistoryblog.com/archives/…
Thank you for sharing the best video summarising the #victoriaearthquake in Melbourne 🙏

Excited to get back into musetech with this year's conference. Also excited about the pay what you can model now that I am a freelancer, and live in Brazil. Less excited about getting up at 6am to catch the first sessions... But you win some, you lose some.
Booking is open for our virtual #MuseTech2020 conference, 'Museums in a Crisis', on 9 - 10 December! This year we are operating a ‘pay what you can’ model and you can select the ticket which best suits you from the available options hopin.to/events/museums-tech… #MuseTech #MuseSocial
Some interesting Tuesday night reading...
I wrote a wee piece on the challenges of creating good social media content in large organisations

Today in Brazil a man was acquitted of rape on the grounds "estupro culposo" = victim blaming. Specifically:
1. She was so drunk he couldn't know she wasn't consenting
2. She posted lots of sexy pics on her insta
Outraged
