Austin ISD sends more property tax dollars to the state than the next 6 highest districts combined.
Compare the $771M AISD sent back to the state last year with the $887M budget just approved for next year.
Add failing schools to the mix and it's really a raw deal for Austin.

Any state corrective action for 2 of 114 schools failing to meet an arbitrary State standard should be directed at those 2, not at undermining AISD independence and thwarting the progress already underway across the district in strengthening our local schools.
