Bitcoin is now used more than credit cards in El Salvador. • Used Bitcoin (2024): 8% (Iudop/UCA) • Active credit card users: 7% (World Bank) Both still lag far behind cash, but considering credit cards have had 50 years to catch on, bitcoin adoption is doing just fine.

The greatest visionaries prioritize what is right over what is popular or easy. President Bukele has publicly been a real Bitcoiner for almost a decade because he already understood the many problems that Bitcoin solves. “There’s no stopping an idea whose time has come” And there’s no stopping a leader with the conviction and competence to implement the greatest ideas, regardless of naysayers and obstacles. The Salvadoran people deserve a ton of credit here as well for embracing this historic opportunity with President Bukele and Bitcoin to build a better future. On the institutional as well as grassroots fronts of adoption, Salvadorans are the ones leading many of the projects that are making the most of this transformative opportunity 🇸🇻🚀
Everyone knows President Bukele is a Bitcoiner. But many don't know how freedom money helped in his story of becoming President. Years before Bitcoin Beach and the Bitcoin Law... he was Mayor of San Salvador, building a new movement to challenge the entrenched two-party establishment. Institutions moved to restrict funding before the movement was registered. The central bank warned him not to go outside their system. Bukele responded like a true Bitcoiner: He tweeted that they would accept Bitcoin for donations anyway. He even tagged the central bank in it. The rest is history. Salvadorans elected President Bukele and the Renaissance 2.0 began. El Salvador became Bitcoin Country. Now it's one of the safest places on earth, with a rapidly booming economy (especially in the construction, tourism, and technology sectors) The trajectory and results are undeniable at this point... But even among the many Bitcoiners who appreciate this historic progress, few realize how freedom money actually helped the Bukele movement take off in the first place. The fiat establishment tried to stop him early on, but Bitcoin and President Bukele proved to be unstoppable. 🇸🇻🚀

As someone with a portfolio of energized land assets here is what I am seeing: 1. Neoclouds are disorganized and poorly capitalized. Some are definitely better than others however. 2. Hyperscalers are intractable, bureaucratic organizations that take 3 months to do an NDA and want 18mo escrow periods. We built our portfolio by competing against these terms because of our speed and simplicity. The more future assets orgs like ours win, the bigger the problem for the hyperscalers downstream (see 3). 3. There are delays in the existing pipeline that will catch people off guard in 2027. Hyperacalers will (obviously) react by focusing on their own internal compute needs over any third party. If the third party is a model company, they will tell them to go through their model router where they will also take a non-trivial vig. Them telling Ant they have no compute for them (rumored in Ant’s S-1) if true is a huge tell that this is already happening. All of this is to say that it does look like there will be a lot of partially stranded compute and compute sitting in inventory in 2027 than is currently forecasted. This is bought and paid for but effectively underearning (below total cost of capital) or collecting dust. We see this as true for everyone - model companies, hyperscalers, neoclouds except ONE (you can guess which one). This dislocation will benefit two kinds of orgs: the non-bureaucratic big scalers who can build industrial scale quickly and the nimble, well capitalized players feeding them. 2027 will be a turbulent year because it will clear out a bunch of wrong/bad bets. It will also be a consolidation year for a few.
Replying to @Yuchenj_UW
I think we’re going to see a lot of stranded compute in partially complete data centers

Sundays are for building. 🚀 While most people took the day off, our AI Challenge teams spent their Sunday showing what they built in three weeks: live demos, real AI projects, from idea to product. That’s how builders spend a Sunday. Proud of every single one. 💙

Credit cards had a 50-year head start, and El Salvador caught up in just five. That’s what winning looks like in the stats. And here’s what it looks like irl 👇 xitter.cf/bitcoinofficesv/status…
