@AJEX_UK After the ceremony I was informed that one of the 3 stones atop Joseph Toeg's tomb is from Belsen. Placed by a member of the local French resistance, who was captured & deported there, as a sign of solidarity

I discovered through @JewsofWW2 information relating to late husband of cousin. My only known relative who died in British Army in WW2 81 yrs ago this month for RAF in Kempson in what appeared to be a training accident. Tragic. A very well curated site. rememberingthejewsofww2.com/…

Tonight on Yom HaShoah, we remember the 6 million Jews, and millions of others, who were brutally murdered during the Holocaust.
Now, more than ever, it is our mission to educate future generations about the atrocities committed by the Nazis.

#OTD in 1938, Nazi leaders unleashed pogroms against the Jewish population in Germany and other territories. This event came to be called #Kristallnacht (The Night of Broken Glass) because of the shattered glass that littered the streets after the vandalism.

84 years ago #OnThisDay the #Kristallnacht pogrom took place. Jewish homes, businesses and synagogues were attacked by German troops throughout the night of the 9-10 November, and 30,000 Jewish males were rounded up and taken to concentration camps.

My dad was 13yo when his family lost their home and shop on Kristallnacht. He escaped to England via the kindertransport two months later. In 2019 memorial stones (stolperstein) were placed in front of the home. Glad to hear they are being honoured.
Pleased to announce 4 more successes. The CWGC will change the headstone symbols from a Cross to a Star of David after our research submitted to them.
