$ANT - ANTHROPIC FACES JUNK CREDIT RATING RISK DESPITE PLANNED MEGA-IPO
Blackstone has warned investors that Anthropic may receive a below-investment-grade credit rating following its IPO, reversing earlier expectations, according to the Financial Times.
The AI company is reportedly expected to receive a BB-range rating, potentially raising borrowing costs and limiting access to institutional capital.
Anthropic plans to spend over $800 billion on computing infrastructure through 2045, while its $63 billion Project North Star financing relies heavily on guarantees from investment-grade-rated Broadcom.
The company reportedly holds over $112 billion in cash and could raise another $100 billion through its IPO.

I miss Larry Page
Steve Jurvetson once told Elon Musk a story he had never heard before.
At a Google event, Larry Page turned to Jurvetson out of the blue and wondered aloud how much money he had. After mentioning a number, Page said that if he were hit by a bus that day, he should leave all of it to Elon Musk.
Elon asked if he had really said that. Jurvetson confirmed it and joked that he immediately wanted to get it in writing.
Elon said he loved that and called Page a good friend. He noted they had known each other since around 1997, before Page received venture funding.
Jurvetson added that Page believed a corporation pursuing goals aligned with his own interests—such as moving away from oil and colonizing other planets—would accomplish far more than giving the money to a nonprofit. Page wished he could do more of that himself.
Completely ludicrous to think people will be working that much
Jamie Dimon pictures a 3.5-day week while his own bank demands five.
Thirty years from now, Dimon says, the next generation will probably work four or three and a half days a week and earn around $300,000 each. He calls that a great life, and then he turns to the bad part.
The bad part, for him, is hackers. On the way there he says "I'm not going to do the jobs part unless you want me to," and moves straight on to cyber risk.
You'd have to sit through 40 minutes of his October 14 talk at the Economic Club of Chicago to reach that sentence, and it goes by in about two seconds. In our cut it sits at 0:58.
His own bank answered a smaller version of the jobs question last year. JPMorgan ordered staff back to the office five days a week starting March 2025, and Dimon told employees he didn't care how many of them signed the petition against it.
This is my reading; he never said it. A forecast 30 years out costs the person making it nothing, while a schedule for next Monday costs him plenty, so the far promise gets the microphone and the near question gets skipped.
A manager can run the same test on any boss. Ask what changes for the team in the next 12 months, and listen for whether the answer comes back as a date or a decade.
The people who'd need that 3.5-day week are the ones whose jobs he chose not to talk about.

Customer B has been revealed. Anthropic is SpaceX's largest single customer, overtaking NASA and the Pentagon for the first time. 34.5% of SpaceX's revenue last quarter was from compute-as-a-service to Dario Amodei, and Anthropic has committed to spending up to $120.5 billion through 2029. He will be paying Elon $3.1 billion a month starting in December 2026.

Today, Venezuela’s interim president Delcy Rodríguez announced in a televised address that she has ordered security forces to halt arbitrary detentions made without court orders, with exceptions for flagrant crimes. She has also ordered a national review of criminal justice reform, including a referendum inquiry, with the aim of moving toward a more transparent and impartial system.
Furthermore, Rodríguez reiterated in the same address that elections will be held, though she did not announce a date. She outlined plans for electoral reform, including a renewed National Electoral Council (CNE) accepted by all political sides, alongside guarantees for political participation.
