MLB trying to take a page out of @MajorLeaguePB book. Higher seeds picking their opponents for the playoffs.
If you post pickleball content and pretend the paddle handle is a microphone, I am 100% skipping your video. Thank you for your understanding.
Tough day for the “Pickleball is not a real sport” tennis elitists. After the US Open finished a match at 3:30am.

Argue amongst yourselves but @federicostak is the MLP Finals MVP.
DC Pickleball team owner Rich Kleiman.
Kevin Durant and his business partner, Rich Kleiman, invested in Hugging Face's seed & Series A fundraising rounds.
Nvidia just acquired the company for $12.9 billion, and since I'm told Durant invested $100,000 in the seed round and $150,000 in the Series A, he likely made more than $60 million on this investment alone.
That is one of the best athlete investments ever (and more money than Durant will make playing in the NBA this season).
Good time to transition to pickleball where drug testing is non-existent 🤷🏻♂️
Former Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios revealed Wednesday he tested positive for cocaine and was provisionally suspended from tennis, calling the doping case a wake-up call after feeling “helpless and alone” as injuries derailed his career. spr.ly/6016B15R54
MLP-Newport was incredible. But Nico and Kloss in their feelings about @DallasFlashPB keeping receipts is my favorite part of the weekend.
A few PPA updates based on the newly announced world rankings:
Seeding stays the same in each individual event based singles, mixed and gender rankings. Ex: Haworth would still be the #1 seed.
However, the new world rankings will determine who gets the byes as opposed to seeding. Ex: Ben Johns would get a bye even as a 10 seed over Haworth as a #1 seed.
PPA finals will be top 8 players by world rankings
All Championship Sunday matches are 2 out of 3 now. Other than Majors.
No more bronze medal matches.
Because some people can’t wrap their heads around this…
Head to head is the ultimate tie breaker in a perfect world. If you play in a league with a balanced schedule, divisions, conferences, etc. Sure it makes sense.
When you play in a league with none of that, and you could play one team 4 times in a season and one team 0 times. Which happened this year. H2H doesn’t make as much sense. If CBB ties with Columbus its H2H but if they tie with Bay Area its Match winning %. Sounds silly.
I do think MLP should go with divisions next year. 11 teams in each division. Top 6 from each make the playoffs. Play everyone in your own division twice. Then you can have tiebreaker be H2H between divisional opponents.

That was one of the most incredible pickleball matches I’ve ever witnessed! Black bears v Slice, playoffs on the line, 25-23 finish in a Dreambreaker. Unreal by both teams
@MajorLeaguePB
Really proud of the fight @BlackBearsCA showed today. Incredible match. Hats off to the Slice, they came up clutch.
For those that don’t know the tie breaker rules. Bears still have a feint pulse. Need Miami to beat Slice tomorrow. That will force a tie at 31 points and Bears currently own the tiebreaker.
If you see @ZaneNavratil at Disney Sorings tonight…leave him alone. Chicago is worse with him 😉.
If somehow Brooklyn can sneak in to the 4th spot (win tomorrow and finish ahead of LA in Orlando) how do you not give Jackie Kawamoto MVP votes?
Just for clarification purposes. @BlackBearsCA had zero intention of dropping Joey Wild. He chose to go back home to Australia and compete for MLP-A and PPA Asia. We love Joey and had planned to finish what we started with him on our team.
Also due to league rules, we knew Orlando was dropping Martin Emmrich. The league would not let us switch waiver positions. Therefore we were forced to pick up Craig Johnson (could have been anyone), then immediately drop him as Martin became available. Not sure why a graphic was needed but it gives us all something to talk about.
Despite the delivery by @RossChaifetz. I do think he probably has a right to be frustrated if MLP changes its league structure. Like every sport you have owners that spend and owners that don’t. The ones who do, should gain a competitive advantage. For the last three years, The Shock, Mad Drops, Fives, Brooklyn have all spent a lot of money to try and build their brands, the league and to win. While other teams used Amazon basics for their team jerseys.
So I can understand the frustration when they are told, “hey we are discussing a salary cap to make the teams who haven’t spent as much more competitive. But we appreciate your efforts the last 3 years!”
However, long term this is much better for the league as a whole and I suggest all the owners read the book “The League” and look at the sacrifices the early NFL owners made for the betterment of the league and not just their individual teams. Because there are a lot of parallels to MLP. The Mara family knew they couldn’t be the only ones making or spending money for the NFL to be sustainable. They let other teams play in NY knowing thats where the largest fan base was. Even though it cost them money.
And with all that being said, you come at me with a stray, I am firing back with a bazooka. Even though I actually like Ross :)
