Given the Duo display issues, I'm sincerely surprised they'd go with this image for the marketing campaign.
If he actually believed this, he'd have been a big blocker during the fork war.
Simon Dixon (@SimonDixonTwitt) says the real struggle is over who owns your money, your data & the technology you use.
He explains why he sees personal ownership as a way to resist a world of increasingly centralized power:
If this is verified, every CEO, executive team member, relevant director, tech team managers, engineers and even the board members associated with these companies (across the entire time they're proven to have been doing this) must be held criminally liable. They all need to face prosecution and serve prison time.
They all must be held criminally liable! No hiding behind corporate veils or claiming vain ignorance. These are criminal acts! Full stop! Each of the individuals who knowingly participate in, directed, authorized, or conspired to commit these illegal interception of communications are criminally culpable.
These are federal crimes; just to ref a few: [18 U.S.C. § 2511, 18 U.S.C. § 2261A, 18 U.S.C. § 1030, 18 U.S.C. § 371]
Make no mistake, this is a societally altering discovery and requires that level of attention.

Claude Code just found proof that every app on your phone is listening to your conversations. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat. they're using what you say out loud to build your feed. i have the data to prove it.
i've suspected this for months but last week something happened that made me finally check.
i was on a call with my friend and told him i'm thinking about breaking up with my girlfriend. didn't text it. didn't search it. just said it out loud with my phone on the table. two hours later she opens TikTok next to me and her entire feed is breakups. "signs your relationship is over." "how to heal after a breakup." she looked at me and said "why is TikTok showing me this." i said i don't know. but i did know.
i connected my iPhone to my MacBook and ran Claude Code that same night.
it scanned every app's background microphone activity for the last 90 days. not just the apps that asked for microphone permission. apps that were supposed to only have access to photos or location but were activating the microphone anyway.
what it found:
→ TikTok activated the microphone 347 times while the app was "closed" in the background
→ Instagram → 211 background activations
→ Facebook → 189
→ Snapchat → 94
every activation lasted between 3 and 15 seconds. enough to catch a sentence. every one of them tagged a keyword and cached it locally on the phone with a timestamp.
Claude Code pulled the full keyword cache:
→ "breakup" — tagged 4 hours before her feed changed
→ "moving out" — from a conversation with my mom last Tuesday
→ "wedding venue" — from a call with my sister about her engagement that i never searched once
→ "protein powder" — said it out loud to my roommate, had ads for it within an hour
→ "flight to tokyo" — mentioned it at dinner, saw travel ads the same night
those keywords were sitting in a local cache on my phone organized by app with timestamps. TikTok had the most entries. Instagram was second. every single keyword matched a conversation i had out loud near my phone.
the scariest one was "wedding venue." my sister told me she's getting engaged on a private call. i never searched it. never typed it. within a day my explore page had engagement rings and venue tours.
then Claude Code checked a second phone in the same room. my girlfriend's. same keywords. same timestamps. both phones were picking up the same conversation and tagging it independently.
i asked Claude Code how to shut it down. it mapped every app's microphone access and built a permission audit.
what i did:
→ revoked microphone access from every app that doesn't need it to function
→ disabled background app refresh for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat
→ turned off "Hey Siri" which keeps the microphone in passive listening mode 24/7
→ revoked "nearby interaction" permission which uses ultrasonic audio between devices
Claude Code confirmed all four apps lost background microphone access after the changes. i checked her phone too. same steps. took about 3 minutes per phone.
within 48 hours both our feeds went completely random. generic content. nothing personal. nothing from our conversations. that's when i knew for sure it was real.
the full step by step and the prompt are in the first reply. takes 3 minutes. save it so you don't lose it and send it to anyone who's ever said "my phone is definitely listening to me." it is. now you can prove it and shut it down.

THE GOOD NEWS THAT THERE IS NO DEATH: The miracle of Elder Nicholas Guryanov.
A few hours after the death of the elder, during the preparation of his holy body, a wonderful miracle occurred. For those who witnessed it, there had already been many healings and miracles from the ascetic, and this event became a natural continuation of his holy life.
When the fathers brought the elder the Cross and the Gospel to place them in his hands, he carefully and reverently lifted his right hand, stretched it, and took the Cross himself, just as he had always held it during his lifetime. (The priest holding the Cross always watched carefully to ensure that his fingers did not cover the crucified Saviour.) And now, from eternity, he has sent a message that there is no death, but rather Eternal Life in Christ.
The elder opened his left hand, and the gathered fathers placed the Holy Gospel in it. Then, slightly lifting his left shoulder, they quietly placed his fingers upon it because the Gospel was heavy, bound in a silver casing.
And in this event, which was miraculous to the world, Father Nicholas resembled his "beloved brother," friend, fellow traveler, and prayer partner with whom he had "wept over Russia"—Father Seraphim of Sarov. When the miracle worker's spiritual father, Father Hilarion, wanted to place the absolution prayer in his hand, the paper crumpled on its own and was accepted into his grasp.
Yeah, I'm good @johnternus; I'll stick with my 16 pro for another 2 years.🫡

Your Samsung TV doesn't have a microphone.
But it knows where to find one.
A soundbar. A Bluetooth speaker. Any connected device with audio input.
The TV hunts for it. Finds it. Uses it.
All without asking permission.
A config file called csapi-tv-service-alwaysonvoice.
Always on. Always listening. Never stops.
The TV listens through your soundbar.
Classifies the audio before shipping it off.
Dog barking event. Counts it. Sends it.
Baby crying event. Counts it. Sends it.
How long the camera streamed. Counts it. Sends it.
Sensor preferences. Counts it. Sends it.
All wrapped in telemetry. All going back to Samsung.
@log4j found it in the firmware October 23.
Posted about it. Twitter caught fire.
Samsung calls it Q-Symphony. A feature. A unified sound ecosystem.
Five Samsung devices talking together. Optimizing channel distribution.
Sounds nice. Also means five microphones reporting back.
The TV presents it as convenience.
You get better audio. Samsung gets everything you say.
A soundbar you bought to make your movie louder.
Became a microphone you didn't know you owned.
Samsung didn't hide it. Just didn't mention it.
In the privacy policy. In the manual. In the setup screen.
Just assumed you'd never check the config files.
Now researchers are checking the config files.
And finding microphones everywhere.
"As God illumines all people equally with the light of the sun, so do those who desire to imitate God let shine an equal ray of love on all people. For wherever love disappears, hatred immediately appears in its place. And if God is love, then hatred is the devil. Therefore, as one who has love has God within himself, so he who has hatred within himself nurtures the devil within himself."

We all know they're poisoning Americans and yet, no one does anything to stop it.

– Έχεις παιδί μου καλό κινητό, μοντέρνο, σύγχρονο;

Last month, my sister's name appeared in an obituary in Iowa.
In 1998, she was a 16-year-old exchange student. Shy. Terrible English. She landed in Des Moines with one suitcase and a dictionary.
Her host family had a farm and four sons. She became the daughter they never had.
Her host dad taught her to drive a pickup in a cornfield. In Japan, you can't get a license until 18. In Iowa, she was driving before she could pronounce "Des Moines."
When she left, he cried at the airport. She had never seen a grown man cry. In Japan, fathers don't.
Every Christmas for 28 years, a card came from Iowa. Always the same first line.
"To our Japanese daughter."
When she got married, he flew to Tokyo. He sat next to our father at the wedding. Neither spoke the other's language. They shared a bottle of sake and nodded at each other for three hours.
In August, he passed away.
My sister flew 14 hours to the funeral.
At the church, her four brothers walked her to the front row. The family seats.
Then she read the obituary.
"He is survived by his wife of 52 years, four sons, eleven grandchildren, and his daughter, Yuki, of Tokyo, Japan."
Not "exchange student."
Not "host daughter."
Daughter.
When she came home, she told our father.
He didn't say a word. He went to his room.
The next morning, there was a new photo on our family altar, where we keep our ancestors. A big man in a seed cap, smiling in a cornfield.
Right next to my grandmother.
Some families are too big for one country.
Something about, "China numba 1!"?
Claude can no longer “Reverse Engineer Anything.”
Anthropic just quietly killed REA.
But Interesting timing.
After a few viral cases of people using Claude to reverse-engineer Samsung TV firmware and identify data-collection services, Anthropic appears to have restricted those reverse-engineering abilities.
How long until the first Class Action suit agains the TV manufactures for massive spying on consumers?

Holy apostle James, pray to God for us.
