The Daily Grind ☕️ Unless... The word “unless” matters here. David was on the verge of losing heart, giving in to discouragement, and becoming utterly overwhelmed. However, he chose to believe he would see the goodness of the Lord. Looking at the state of our world, it’s easy to lose heart, to give up, and to give in to discouragement. But that’s the easy way out, and God never tells us to take the easy and comfortable path. Today: Rally your faith to believe that God is still on the throne, that He has a plan, and that He will have the final word in all things. Let His truth fill you with faith, resolve, and hope. You will see His goodness rise above the noise of this world. Pray: “Father, I will not give in to fear, dread, or unbelief. I choose to trust Your plan, Your will, and Your ways as I step into a new day. In Jesus’ name, amen.” - Pastor Jimmy

The Daily Grind ☕️ No Thing Young Mary questioned the messenger, “How can this be?” It was an honest question, and there was no rebuke. The answer came in one sentence: “For with God nothing will be impossible.” Emphasis on “no thing.” You may be facing what appears to be an impossible situation. You need to remember that with God, “no thing” will be impossible. You must move from “impossibility thinking” to “possibility knowing.” Today: What is in front of you that you need to move from impossibility thinking to possibility knowing? Only believe, fully trust, and commit to knowing that He is able. Pray: “Father, I choose to fully believe that You are well able to move this mountain that’s in front of me. In Jesus’ name, amen.” - Pastor Jimmy

The Daily Grind ☕️ Hard-Fought Hallelujah Season I wrote this response to a person who was struggling with the hard season they are in. I sense that others need to hear this in their difficult season, too. This is your hard-fought hallelujah season. It’s boot camp and training for reigning, all rolled up into one. Three words kept Annette and me through our hard-fought hallelujah season, “Stay the course.” On the other side of this valley, there is a mountain of hope and grace. If it were easy, everyone would pass the test. It’s not… “but God.” Today: Dare to trust God in the valley of the shadow of death. Don’t quit. Don’t give up. Stay the course. You will come out on the other side. Pray: “Father, I trust You in this hard place. You are good even when it doesn’t look or feel good. I declare, ‘I will stay the course.’ In Jesus’ name, amen.” - Pastor Jimmy

The Daily Grind ☕️ Relationship Over Ritual In courtroom fashion, God speaks to His people through the psalmist Asaph. What God is looking for is not religious rituals, but a relationship that is authentic and personal. He tells them to call on Him, not offer more sacrifices. God’s desire is to connect and relate with us. We default to traditions, more study, more prayer, and more worship. All good things, but He wants us to come to Him intentionally and directly. Call upon Him. He will be there. Today: Continue to engage in your spiritual disciplines, but remember, they are not a substitute for relating to God by simply talking with Him as you go through your day. Bless Him by bringing Him into everything you do today. Pray: “Father, thank You for reminding us that You want to walk with us in the ordinariness of our day. In Jesus’ name, amen.” - Pastor Jimmy

Micah 6:8 (NIV) And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. The Daily Grind ☕️ Keep It Simple Saint In response to God’s goodness and redemptive acts, He gives us three action steps that should mark our lives: Act justly. Love mercy. Walk humbly. If you are like me, we can make things much more complicated than they really are. K.I.S.S. “Keep It Simple, Saint.” Be fair, extend mercy, and exemplify humility. Today: What would it look like throughout your day to express these three virtues where you live, work, and play? Pray: “Father, walk with me today and remind me to exemplify fairness, mercy, and humility with every person and in every opportunity I encounter. In Jesus’ name, amen.” - Pastor Jimmy

The Daily Grind ☕️ Same Spirit. Same Power. The same Spirit and the same power that raised Jesus from the dead live in you and make their home in you. This is astounding news! This same Spirit and power will also give life (zoe, the God kind of life) to you daily. The Enemy will fabricate lies and mental constructs to make you think you're alone and that God’s Spirit and presence have abandoned you. Don’t believe it. Recognize, Renounce, Replace, and Resist the lies. Today: Don’t entertain the barrage of lies and intrusive thoughts the Enemy brings your way. Use the four R’s and send him packing. Pray: “Father, thank You for the spiritual weapons of warfare that You graciously give us to guard our peace and stay the course. In Jesus’ name, amen.” - Pastor Jimmy

The Daily Grind ☕️ The Winds of Change Fall is upon us. Temperatures are dropping, leaves are changing, and the winds are shifting. Funny, we embrace changing seasons in nature, but often resist them in life. However, you are not left on your own. God will walk with you into the next season and order your steps as you go. Seasons come and go. Some will be difficult and some glorious. However, we have a Helper, the Holy Spirit, who will lead the way. Today: Recognize the season you’re in, release the past, and step into God’s new season for you. Pray: “Father, by faith, I choose to trust You and embrace the new season You are leading me into. In Jesus’ name, amen." - Pastor Jimmy

The Daily Grind ☕️ A Lamp, Not a Floodlight The lamp in ancient times was a simple bowl with a pinched edge that held a wick that drew oil from inside the bowl. Not exactly a 7,000-lumen tactical light. It lit your next step or two as you walked the path. God’s Word shows us the way by lighting our next step or two. Typically, it does not show us the whole road of God’s will. Trust His Word and take the next step. As you do, the next step will be revealed. Today: Find the answers and the next step for your journey by spending time in God’s Word daily. It will light the way as you go. Pray: “Father, thank You that Your Word lights my next step and reveals the way I should go. In Jesus’ name, amen.” - Pastor Jimmy

The Daily Grind ☕️ The Weight of Every Word What you say matters. People measure your character by what you do and by what you say. Are you a person of your word? Can people depend on you to do what you say you will do? Words can also produce death or life. Gossip, criticism, and judgment can break one’s spirit. Life, encouragement, and hope can lift someone out of the depths of despair. Speak life, because you'll eat what you say. Today: Notice the words that come out of your mouth, especially when angry or under duress. You leak out what you are full of. Pray: “Father, may my words be laced with grace and bring life and hope to those I encounter today. In Jesus’ name, amen.” - Pastor Jimmy
