WE’RE HIRING!!!
We’re growing impossibly fast. 3 robot generations in 4 months. Now hiring 7 engineers to build 100+ robots and deploy to data centers and factories starting this July
Full-stack robotics: hardware, software, models, deployment
JOIN US: gradientrobotics.ai/jobs
We're on a mission to solve general-purpose robotics through useful & scaled industry deployment today
We live and build under one roof in Menlo Park. Meals and living included. SF office coming soon
We're backed by top-tier investors and world-class partners
If you’ve ever wanted to build world-class full-stack robots, move crazy fast, and make macroeconomic impact, now it’s the time to JOIN US: gradientrobotics.ai/jobs
We’ve inherited the K-Scale spirit, mission, and core engineering team at @gradientrobots
We closed our pre-seed round in Sept and we’re accelerating fast 🚀
We're building U.S.-manufacturable robots at scale. WE'll be the open-source Unitree for America
Join us! We're hiring
@gradientrobots was founded by K-Scale's core founding engineering team that created, built, and shipped the Z-Bot, K-Bot, and software stack end-to-end
We're currently:
- Hiring mechanical, software, and ML engineers
- Looking for angel investors experienced in robotics and US manufacturing
- Looking for US manufacturing partners
Please let us know anyone we should talk to! 🚀🚀🚀 :)

In September, I decided to leave K-Scale Labs to build a new venture focused on solving an urgent and critical problem for robotics and physical AI in the United States.
At K-Scale Labs, I'm grateful to have been able to create and lead the K-Bot and Z-Bot projects and to recruit a world class team. In under 8 months, our team of 10 did what most say takes years: we built the first 2 open-source, mass-manufacturable, developer-focused humanoid robots in the U.S. -- from hardware design and manufacturing to the OS and RL/VLA models -- and delivered them to our first customers.
I'm deeply grateful for Ben, Rui, and Pawel's mentorship and support, and we're very lucky to have had the incredible support from our open-source community, partners, vendors, and friends who made everything possible.
General-purpose robotics is one of the most important problems today, and we have the steps to solve it -- just like self-driving. This is a very hard problem. It will be solved, and it will be solved in an open-sourced way.
Thank you all. Very exciting announcements are coming up -- see you guys soon! :)

The humanoid movement is global. 🌏🤖
We just hit $1M in orders for K-Bot worldwide!!! 🤯🤯🤯🚀🚀🚀
The open-source humanoid robotics revolution is starting now!!!
We're launching America's first open-source end-to-end humanoid robot starting at $8,999
Open-source hardware, Rust OS, Python SDK, RL training libraries
The future of robotics is autonomous, open-source, affordable, and made in America 🇺🇸

K-Bot is the world’s first open-source humanoid robot that is affordable, available and made in America.
Robots should serve people and empower anyone to build the future, not just big corporations.

Robotics in the U.S. is broken -- proprietary, expensive, and slow.
We’re going to change that.
We're building, learning, and shipping mass-production grade humanoid robots with the open-source communities

$1,000 USD now buys you a humanoid robot that's fully open source and owned by you.
@benjamin_bolte gave me a behind the scenes look at his @kscalelabs Palo Alto garage where they work 24/7 on their mission to create billions of open source robots
Here's what we saw

YC is the YC for Robotics
Open Source Robot Company @kscalelabs has announced a ~$9,000 personal robot.
The entire robotics open source system: hardware, software, and machine learning infrastructure, all tightly integrated and ready for your use case.
I am placing an order.
I will also order Optimus.
I’m blown away by the number of pre-orders—and we haven’t even launched our robots yet! 🤯
Thank you, everyone, for supporting and sharing our mission in open-source humanoid robotics. We're working very hard to make this a reality.
Official launch coming soon!
Wow! Thank you everyone for the overwhelming interest - we only planned to release our SDK for training RL policies, and we were surprised by be the large number of hardware pre-orders!
We’ll temporarily pause robot pre-orders until our official hardware launch, to show the full potential of our robots
We'll honor anyone who has already pre-ordered a robot, first-come-first-serve, as they come off the line
Stay tuned!
