At 87th and California, two elderly Black men — including 73-year-old Charles Baker, a client and friend of one of our Chicago Flips Red supporters — were killed. Reports say the 21-year-old Latino suspected illegal alien driver had liquor on his breath but was only given a ticket for “failure to reduce speed.” His name still hasn’t been released. This is unacceptable. Two elders lost their lives, and the public deserves transparency and accountability. If the situation were reversed, we all know the outcome would be different. Chicago cannot keep protecting certain people while our community continues to bury its own. We will make sure this story is told — and this is exactly why we’re flipping Chicago Red. #ChicagoFlipsRed
