Cognitive science has been at the centre of establishing curriculum active ingredients and pedagogical approaches at @clictrust. I have outlined the amazing work going on at @DaneBankPS in this blog for @EducEndowFoundn #TogetherWeMakeTheDifference

I've spent an exhausting but wonderful day with my 11 year old on a fundraising hike up Snowden. 6 hours 32 mins and 11 miles of walking. Every muscle in my lower body aches but I've loved it and could not be any prouder of my son
At the end of SATS week, I feel (as I do every day) immense pride in the pupils at our @clictrust schools @ChorltonParkPS @DaneBankPS @LilyLaneMCR @OldMoatPS @Rolls_Crescent and also for my own son who is in Year 6 (my first time experiencing SATS from a parent perspective)
My musings for this week...thinking about how effective professional development is an impactful strategy to underpin pupil premium strategies. Such great work in this area at @ChorltonParkPS thank you for listening to my thoughts @AspirerRS researchschool.org.uk/aspire…

📚It's Fluency Friday! Myth #5: Reading a text once is enough. Fact: Pupils face many challenges when reading unfamiliar texts, and reading a text once is rarely enough for good comprehension. Repeated reading is important.
Loving hearing the Governors at @ChorltonParkPS tonight reflecting upon the school's journey in implementing metacognitive strategies, looking at the @EducEndowFoundn voices from the classroom about the 7-step model, recorded by one of Chorlton Park's teachers
It was a real pleasure to be invited to take part in the @EducEndowFoundn latest podcast with @AlexJQuigley and @Hannahlheron. Anyone who knows me knows that I love any reason to talk about metacognition in action
🎙️ New: “Evidence into Action”
In the latest episode of our podcast, we focus on metacognition.
Featuring Prof John Dunlosky of @KentState, @Hannahlheron, @JoAshcroftEd and Freya Morrissey of @TeignSchool.
