So, from here on out, I think you will mostly find me at BlueSky @jockcartier.bsky.social
I know, I know, I said that same last year... but this time there are actually a critical mass over there. It's a lot like Twitter in the old days, before the algorithm was rage bait
If this is where the CFL is headed, just add a down and get it over with.
This charade isn't fooling anyone.
It's also not gonna improve your business one iota.
For those curious about the project of collecting CFL financials for the Bombers/Elks and Riders I have now basically completed the compilation portion thanks to timely contributions from @lemonspread (and the Elks) as well as the fine folks at the CFLDB

There is no debate, it’s Summer McIntosh teapawt.net/cbcolympics/status/186…
Interesting factoid, Jarious Jackson as a Head Coach actually had a better winning percentage than Corey Mace, and people were trying to talk up Mace as COTY.
And JJ somehow did that despite inexplicably sticking with MBT for several weeks
Edmonton Elks head coach interviews for the week:

Tuesday: Rick Campbell, Jordan Maksymic
Wednesday: Mark Kilam

I THINK what happened is the Riders valued their "investment" in CFL Enterprises joint venture at 9.2M (why? Don't know) and created the asset & profit to recognize it. Whereas the others recognized theirs as a trivial amount (as is more custom when no money changed hands)
Replying to @JockCartier
- The Riders also recorded a 9.2M gain on the sale of commercial rights to this entity formed for the Genius stuff. Neither of the other two had anything like that. No idea what exactly they transferred or how they valued it.

Random observations after entering that:
- Riders really like ramming things thru net assets that they shouldn't
- Bombers do some sketchy stuff with related parties
- The teams seem to be paying 2.55M a year to Genius Sport but are getting about that much more from the CFL
Mentioned over at the better place I was undertaking a project compiling financials for the 3 community owned teams as far back as I could.
So, I have Bombers back to 2005. Elks almost complete back to 2004.
Riders I have back to 2002, but a couple big holes I need help on
I am missing the Riders numbers from 2013-2016 and 2007
So if you might happen to have a copy of their annual reports or financials from that era, or know someone who might, please take a look and let me know so i can fill in the holes. That would be appreciated
You can take a look at what I have so far. No analysis or anything yet, just been amassing and compiling it. But it's certainly interesting

That's some logic. Suggesting both the Bombers and Argos are potentially "dynasty's" at the same time completely obliterates the case that either is a dynasty in the first place
You can't say one team is dominating the sport if you're saying another team is also dominating
"Spikes" when you have two English markets in the game vs just one... well no shit.
Did fortunately have the exact same teams two years ago so that does give a good comparison other to compare the CTV effect... and it comes out to about 8%
Which is right in the range I kinda always figured
It's not all that different than the drop we saw when the GC moved from CBC to TSN, and that was what 15 years ago or more?
It's not nearly what many prognosticated, it's just a small bump.

The CFL not being on CTV is not a slight.
Bell wants to maximize eyeballs, and therefore money. Putting the game on CTV might get you an extra 10-15% tops. So that's anywhere from 200K-500K more
Whereas their regular Sunday night programming often gets around 1M viewers
