Excited to say that Hypatia has secured a second round of funding thanks to the @wellcometrust 💫
This milestone allows us to build the technology and team and conduct validation efforts across the UK and Australia to bridge the ecosystems.

ALT Announcement from Hypatia regarding second-round investment from the Wellcome Trust and 2026 hiring for five roles: Project Coordinator, Backend Engineer, UXUI Engineer, Artist/Designer, and Director of Operations. The graphic showcases Hypatia's international presence in the UK and Australia, featuring team photos and logos of partner institutions including King's College London, UWA, C-FIT, Orygen, and Emyria.
The new funding will expand our team, develop our cognitive fingerprinting tech, and fund essential validation.
We’re partnering with Emyria (WA), @orygen_aus (VIC), and C-FIT (@KingsIoPPN; London) to build a seamless clinical UXUI and a platform ready for treatment development.
We are incredibly grateful to @wellcometrust , @KingsIoPPN , @uwanews , and @PerronInstitute for supporting the vision.
If you're into computational modelling, mental health, or UX, watch out for the application links.

I’m proud to share my latest (and last for the PhD) paper: "ℵ-IPOMDP: Mitigating Deception in a Cognitive Hierarchy with Off-Policy Counterfactual Anomaly Detection," now published in JAIR.
We propose a framework to overcome a major hurdle in MAS: coping with deceptive agents.

A recently proposed «pseudosocial approach» aims at our work on the social dimension of paranoia.
The shortcomings of the article raise important questions on how we all connect behavioural models to neural data.

Side remark: disentangling sources of uncertainty isn’t trivial, and we highlight limitations in the claimed r/ship between volatility and paranoia given the authors' typical model of choice. We point readers to work that demonstrate these issues:
