John Brooks, who didn't see Ekitike's push on Romero as a foul, booked him for protesting, then booked him again and sent him off in a game where he didn't commit a single foul Who was quick to send off Xavi Simons for the tackle on Van Dijk Who didn't think Delap breaking Spence's jaw was a red And who didn't think Palmer hitting Fernandes in the head was a red, or Rogers' ridiculous challange on Gallagher... Will ref Spurs away to dirty Leeds this weekend What could possibly go wrongπŸ˜‚ He was also the VAR who upheld the decision to rule out the Muani goal vs Arsenal for the "push" on Gabriel Thanks @prorefofficial

❀️ My beautiful boy deserves to be remembered with love, not hate. Yesterday, a Coventry fan used a photograph of Bradley to taunt Sunderland supporters. As his mam, this breaks my heart. Behind that photo is a little boy who was loved beyond measure (pt 1)

Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade. If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade? On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare. There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain. As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again. This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.

Absolutely ludicrous. This is not what VAR should be for. Disgusting
On what fucking planet is this offside? Who actually wants decisions like this in the game FFS? @FansAgainstVAR_

I hope you're not sick of Milky Way shots yet because here's yet another but from the night of 7th/8th October over Ballynafagh Church. Stars are bit more traily than I'd like (20 sec shutter speed being why..) and tree has halos but an OK result I think from a stack of 20.

I don't know if you realize what just happened. Elon Musk is completely bypassing the State. For 100 years, we've been told the problem is capital. That it must be captured, taxed, redistributed. With an army of intermediaries standing between those who create wealth and the people: ministries, agencies, commissions, bureaucrats. Musk is doing the opposite. He's taking his capital and giving it directly to the people. One SpaceX share to every kid in America. Not a handout. Not a subsidy. A piece of the machine that's taking humanity to Mars. And he says it himself: this is the first of many. Mises understood this back in 1944: the bureaucrat creates nothing. He administers what others created, following rules that have no connection to the value produced. The day value flows directly from the one who creates it to the one who receives it, the bureaucrat has no function left. That's what's being born right now. A new liberal world order, where the very concept of the State will make less and less sense. The world we're entering is a world of abundance. AI, robots, energy, space. And that abundance won't come through the State, for one simple reason: we have a century of proof that it doesn't work. Redistribution was version 1.0. Direct distribution of capital is 2.0. While France is still debating how to tax builders even more, America is handing stock to its kids. Pick your side.
Next year, I will give one of my SpaceX shares to every kid in America. This will be the first of many.

How often do you see an orchestra give a kid a standing ovation? How often do you see grown men cry? This is far and away the best I've ever heard this sung. The arrangement is exceptional. Way better than the original

It was a rough visit to the shelter for my daughter and me. We went to drop off items belonging to our sweet black lab-greyhound that we’d had to put down a few weeks before. We decided to check out the shelter while we were there. It’s not your standard shelter. This place has horses and goats and bunnies as well. There’s lots to see! We’re walking around, checking it out. None of the animals are paying us much attention. Then, along one of the dog runs this black lab mix comes bounding out along his run. He doesn’t bark but gets very vocal and talkative. It’s funny actually! We give him some attention then begin walking to check out more of the facility. He runs along the run as if to say β€œwhere ya going? I’m right here. I’m your guy!” We check more of the facility and this dog sees us coming back and starts with us again. My daughter is insistent that we can’t leave him here. We have a volunteer take him out of the kennels. This 100 pound girl sits in the grass and then this 80 pound lab climbs into her lap. He’s facing her but tilts his head back to look at us. Then he waves his paw at us. It’s hilarious! How can you say no to that? We fill out the paperwork that day, a Friday. On Sunday we are approved to pick up our new boy on Monday. Pure chance brought both that dog and us to the shelter at the same time. Here’s our boy Chance on his car ride to his new home. Rescue dogs are awesome! Hope you’ll consider the rescue option if you’re looking for a new pet

I know people are worried about fuel prices. And I get it. You get to the pump, watch the numbers climb, and wonder why it's costing so much more than it used to. Β  The reality is that global events are pushing up costs, and families here at home are feeling the impact. Β  But I won't accept that there's nothing I can do to help. Β  That's why from today, you'll be able to see petrol and diesel prices on Google Maps, compare nearby stations and find the cheapest option before you fill up. Β  It's a small change, but if there's a practical way to help people keep more money in their pocket, I'll do it.
