I'm delighted £1m has been secured for culture in Ipswich.
Our Government's 'Arts Everywhere' invests in places that bring our communities together.
Our libraries and theatres are the heart of our town. This funding will ensure they're protected and transformed for the future.

The New Wolsey Theatre will benefit from vital upgrades that secure its long-term future, improve sustainability and ensure it remains a thriving cultural home for audiences and artists alike.

Vital funding will also allow Ipswich County Library to become a more modern, accessible and inclusive space that supports learning, opportunity and digital inclusion for everyone in our town.
Just returned from the Holi Festival at Ipswich's Alexandra Park. It's always a joyful event and this year was no exception.

On 11 February, we remember the release of Nelson Mandela. A moment that marked the end of one long injustice and the beginning of a nation’s reckoning with freedom, dignity, and responsibility.
This year also marks 27 years of the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
27 years of carrying Madiba’s legacy forward, protecting his values, and advancing social justice in a democratic South Africa.
From 27 years behind bars to 27 years of legacy in action, the work of freedom continues.

Our @IpswichLabour team were out in Stoke Park today.
I spoke to lots of residents in the Royals who were really passionate about improving their local community and our town.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to talk to us - some great conversations! xitter.cf/jackabbott90/status/19…

I thank National Highways for their hard work in completing these difficult repairs ahead of schedule.
However, the end of these works will only be a temporary respite.
The Suffolk Conservatives must now deliver on their promise for a Northern Bypass.

Not my property @AnglianWater but at 21 Silent Street, Ipswich, IP1 1TF, there is a water leak from the vicinity of the water meter. Please attend.

Sizewell C getting this government's full backing is huge.
It's six million homes powered.
It's 10,000 directly employed jobs and thousands more in the supply chain.
And it's 1500 apprenticeships for our young people.

The choice is clear: it is Bypass or bust.
I have made my choice.
It is time the Suffolk Conservatives made theirs.

I spoke to @WayneBavinShow on @BBCSuffolk this morning about the need for an Ipswich Northern Bypass.
The Suffolk Conservative's 'do nothing' approach is grinding our town to a halt.
It isn't right that Ipswich keeps paying the price because of their refusal to act.
