🔥 Hero of the Day: Red Banks Beef Farm, Dayton VA
Russell and John Wenger grew up as farm kids. When the family dairy shut down and the barns went empty, they rented the farm and rebuilt it as RedBanksBeefFarm.com
They planted their first crops and bought their first herd in 2019. By 2021 they were selling beef out of the family butcher shop.
Today the cattle are born, raised, grain-finished, and butchered on the same ground. Whole, half, or quarter, cut to your sheet.
No fancy labels. Full transparency on where your beef is born and raised.

Help me buy some cows without taking out a loan to do it. berglane-farm.myshopify.com/…
I'm going to drop them on Saturday morning now.
Also, I want to buy some cows and not have to take out a loan to do that. We need to fill some stalls to improve cash flow, especially with beginning the official transition to organic later this year.
I'm asking an awful lot here but last year's Christmas lotion run showed me that Twitter people are the best, most supportive small business patrons in the world.
We ride at dawn on 9/12.

Right now the “Culture Bearing Stratum” supporting chris ryland music is a handful of (well loved) horseshoeing clients and the occasional fiddle playing gig.
I am getting close to recording an eight(ish) song ep or album, which will probably cost me upward of 15k.
If you want to be a patron of the arts and help fund this project, I would be eternally grateful. I have the domain: chrisrylandmusic. com which goes to a sub stack page where you can sub for free or choose to pay.
I have bought concert tickets/merch from artists I loved as a broke kid, so I get the impulse but if you’re in that spot reading this I’d rather you just buy me a beer sometime.
But if you are prosperous, and or know a billionaire, and you want to support what I’m doing then I would humbly accept the patronage and work all the harder. My dms are open.
I plan on doing some handwritten lyrics on good paper soon, will send as a token of gratitude to anyone who signs up to support at chrisrylandmusic com. Also discount rates on gigs for anyone interested.
Many thanks to all the patriots on here who support me and share my stuff, that means more than I can say!

Some ag writer published a column denouncing those of us in the Oval last week as not deserving to be there. The insinuation is we are only there because we have “platforms.”
Well the only reason I have a platform is my reporting and documentary work on people the big lobby groups (which that writer represents) have ignored for years. I’m there to talk about them.
Yes I have cattle, yes I am in the industry, but I make my platform entirely about ranching families facing threats and lawfare, telling their stories, bridging the urban rural divide, and filling gaps the big guys have ignored for decades. In fact for
years UNWON was anonymous. Most people thought I was a man😅
So we agree. I don’t think I “deserve” to be there. I’ve never made it about me. I didn’t seek an invitation. It was just an opportunity from God and I went to represent my neighbors, family, and ultimately the interests of my son and the next generation, as best I could. I went on my own dime. I am affiliated with zero big groups.
If said big groups feel unrepresented, maybe their reps should stop acting like they are entitled to stand in the Oval Office because of their affiliation with an acronym, and get back to fighting for the PEOPLE and small towns of rural America.
Gonna send these in to Corbitt for punchy pic, probably win some of that revolutionary product that is scientificly proven.

My dear friends, it is with great pleasure that Harvey, Rascal, and myself (with the ever present support of @SummRidge , of course) bring you our first BIG COZY CONTEST!
My most beloved season is Autumn, then Winter, Spring, & Summer. In that order. SO, when Ken suggested to our venerable X wholesome poster, @OldHollowTree , that he sweeten up one of our giveaways, and the good man buzzed at the opportunity, deciding to offer up a Humming Meadow mug, I got excited and decided to try and rope in a bunch of wholesome Americana to help us get through this last bit of summer heat and look towards autumn.
With great generosity of spirit we, all of us, considered breaking the prizes up and, perhaps, next time, we will. However, they all compliment each other so very well that I simply cannot do it.
THERE WILL BE ONE WINNER OF THIS GRAND HONEY POT!🍯
If I were to tag each of our wonderful participants in this post X would see to it that this post got very little algorithmic traction. That we cannot abide. So, I have included their name and handle next to each their items. GO GIVE THESE SWEETIES SOME LOVE! DO THE THINGS!
This will run until the following Monday, as always.
First, Rascal has for you a Browning AB3 Hunter in .308!
If you do not already know how to play along, read the comments and or ask around, our community is kind and will help you out. It is everything you might guess!
Love you all, Love this community, and I love a big cozy autumn. Cheers my friend, and a big southern hug. Let the festivities begin.

Interesting remark from a leading lobbyist for the solar industrial complex, an industry that would not exist at all without the governments of the USA and Europe having plundered taxpayer billions and handed it over to them. @alex_fasulo @RepAndyBiggsAZ @EliCraneAZ

Why? Why aren't you using the EO as a catalyst to advance the mCOOL legislation you cosponsored in the house?

Congrats to @JohnDWenger winning the hat! Message me your shipping info and I’ll get it sent over this week. Thanks everyone for playing.
Might get some more made if there’s any interest, but will about have to charge too much to make it worth while. After shipping my all in cost is like 40 bucks, would have to set the price at $45 or 50 to make anything. They are good Richardson 112s with hand cut leather patches stitched by a good buddy in OK which is why they cost so much.

.@POTUS signs an Executive Order to support farmers' ability to butcher, process, package, and sell their meat across state lines:
"We're going to give farmers and ranchers the right to process their own food... so they don't have to go through the Big Four processors."

In a day and age where small dairy farms are dropping like flies and CAFOs with 10,000+ cows are being permitted in Minnesota, the Dakotas, and elsewhere...why do I still believe in family-scale agriculture composed of smaller holdings instead of what we're seeing today?
Families on the land, tending livestock and nurturing soil and living in the ebbs and flows of the seasons, is a good thing and is holy work.
And holy work is always worth doing, especially in a world screaming otherwise.
See, the Lord your God has set the land before you. Go up, take possession, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has told you. Do not fear or be dismayed. Deuteronomy 1:21

To my cattle raising friends on here -
I'm working on a Cattle Management application for small to medium size herds. I'd say up to 150-200 animals and as small as just a few. I started this because I get tired of keeping up with this stuff in a spreadsheet with a bunch of worksheets embedded or keeping paper records. The enterprise solutions out there are too bloated, full of crap we never need, and expensive. All the ones I've looked at for smaller operations are mediocre and still can be expensive. So I'm doing my own. And I think I'm just going to give it away. I'm developed very successful commercial software and sold it in the past but that's not my goal here. That can turn into a full time job and I have no interest in that. So my question is, would any of you be interested in something like that if it was simple, functional, and free? If so I might hit a few of you up to do some beta testing when I get closer to finished. I'm probably 70% done at this point. But even if you don't want to beta test, I'm likely going to give it to anyone who needs it.
Let me know!

"For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he" - Proverbs 23:7
Stop blackpilling, stop doomscrolling, stop whining.
You become what you think, and if you hold weak and negative thoughts, you become weak and defeated.
"America’s cattle producers have earned consumer trust in U.S. beef over generations."
(that's why we oppose MCOOL on behalf of our packer buddies)
NCBA supports more competition, more opportunities for small & regional processors, and eliminating unnecessary regulations but weakening federal meat inspection & food safety standards isn’t the answer.
America’s cattle producers have earned consumer trust in U.S. beef over generations. That trust, and the gold standard food safety system behind it, shouldn’t be put at risk for a short-term political fix.
Washington should focus on reducing legitimate regulatory burdens, lowering input costs, protecting the herd from foreign animal disease & expanding processing opportunities—not managing the cattle business.

In honor of Dolly, one of the great pride's of East Tennessee, we are giving away what, according to lore, could well have been a type of gun she carried. Especially when being pestered on the streets of NY.
One thing we do know for sure, Dolly was a pistol herself and definitely kept one handy, especially in the days before she could afford personal security.
For this rare and occasioned Harvey's Memorial Giveaway we and @SummRidge present a Smith & Wesson 36 Classic snub chambered in .38 Special.
It will not surprise you that this is a "9 to 5" giveaway and will run from 9am eastern today to 5pm eastern on Friday.
The replies to this post are what count and will be drawn from. Say somethin' nice about Dolly or share a post as a reply that you’ve come across over the last 24 hours that was especially insightful and or meaningful to you. Even post a song or clip of Dolly, that you love.
For fear of overdoing it and becoming tacky and dishonoring I will aim for this to be my last focused personal Dolly post for a time.
Love y'all and rest easy Tennessee Girl.
