This seems like a great time to reshare my favourite Sir Patrick Stewart performance, ‘What has the ECHR ever done for us?’ It’s just perfect in every possible way … including the ending 😂😂😂 RIP. 🎥 The Guardian

I would like to know the actual number currently suspended so the % has context.
Nearly 70% of Police Scotland officers currently suspended while under criminal investigation are accused of offences relating to violence against women, according to figures obtained by STV News. news.stv.tv/scotland/nearly-…

Michelle Mone must be removed from the House of Lords and be made to repay the £187 million she owes the taxpayers. Michelle Mone and her husband, Doug Barrowman, should be in jail for fraud. RT if you agree.

So-called “patriots” are now trying to find the HOME ADDRESSES of @RNLI volunteers. Read that again. People who give up their time to launch into dangerous seas and save strangers are being personally targeted for doing it. This isn’t patriotism. It’s intimidation.

C4 News upstaged Reform conf with secret donations sting. But Farage speech today so much worse - if PM he’d sack Civil servants, make MPs sit 6 days a week to pass laws in ‘a national emergency’, sack judges who challenge & restock HoL with Reform stooges. This is MUCH dodgier.

I'm getting a Costco membership even though I don't need one. My friend had Stage 4 cancer. Costco kept her employed for 2 years after her diagnosis manageable shifts, just so she'd keep her health benefits, which were excellent. She passed away recently. Costco is now covering a full year of COBRA premiums for her 3 sons. Costco retained DEI under pressure in 2025 with 98% of shareholders backing them, and offers starting wages at $20/hr. Pulling all Callaway? Just icing on the cake.

Me and my Sister! I was with my lovely big sister Gwen as she passed away on Monday. She was 74, and loved life, loved her holidays, loved her bowling, loved a good party! I miss her so much already x

This stopped me in my tracks. An independent study by @QMUL has found that after ULEZ was introduced, children’s lungs grew faster in Central London and have now caught up with children outside of the capital. Incredible.
Air pollution stunts children’s lung growth. New Queen Mary research found that improvements in air quality after the introduction of London’s ULEZ are associated with accelerated lung growth in children. Read more: shorturl.at/Jx86o

Community Safety Minister Kirsten Oswald visited Dogs Trust Glasgow to see how they are supporting responsible dog ownership and community safety. She learned about the Freedom Project, which provides temporary foster care for dogs while owners seek safety from domestic abuse.

This is MMA fighter Sean McInnes. When Anne Marie Boyle asked him to leave her alone, he punched her in the face so hard that he broke her cheekbone and her eye socket, knocked her unconscious, and left her with a life-altering brain injury. He was given less than two years behind bars. It would be a real shame if this post was widely circulated and impacted his career in a negative way.

I remember doing this, and one of the worst was my local council, who continued to send bills even after being told 3 times. Eventually my mum wrote "Plot x" and named local cemetery, and put it back in post box.
I’m carrying out the horrible task of ringing Dad’s utility and service providers to inform them of his death. Bereavement teams at his banks- all so lovely. Same with @SkyUK and @VodafoneUK, so compassionate and backdated termination of service to the date of his death. @virginmedia, however, totally different story. Will NOT BACKDATE termination of contract, only to today. It was only 2.5 weeks ago, but it’s the principle. Why is this jarring policy in place, @virginmedia, and differs so much from your competitors? Has left a really poor impression of your company at an incredibly difficult time.

Let's take a look at this claim as "revealed" by the Daily Mail. TLDR - It's taken them a reeeeeally long time to "reveal" this law 😜 So what's the reality behind this headline? 🧵 1/23

2 hours ago Tory MP Richard Holden posted this tweet👇🏼 I was the first person to reply to correct him - this was a Thatcher introduced law! So he blocked me, hid all replies calling him out AND retweeted it himself🙄🙄🙄

The absolute level of stupidity and lack of understanding by the Reform MP about violence to women after England lose, when it happens win or lose. She is a disgrace to all women and I would say it to her face!

Every time England step onto the pitch in a World Cup, the country gears up for ninety minutes of hope, tension and national pride. But away from the stadiums and fan zones, another pattern plays out, one that’s far less celebrated and far more predictable. Domestic violence rises when England play. It rises when they win, when they lose, and even when they draw. The data is consistent across multiple tournaments and multiple police forces. Abuse increases by more than a third when England lose. It still rises by over a quarter when they win. Alcohol‑related abuse jumps sharply. The day after a match, the risk remains elevated. Some forces report their busiest domestic abuse days of the entire year during England fixtures. NHS services see more injuries linked to domestic abuse during tournaments. None of this is new, and none of it is accidental. Football doesn’t cause abuse. Abusers cause abuse. But the World Cup amplifies the risk. Heightened emotions, alcohol, gambling stress and late‑night fixtures all combine to create a pressure point that victims feel long after the final whistle. For those of us working in healthcare, safeguarding, policing, education or community support, this is a warning. A reminder that preparation matters. If you or someone you know is affected, support is available. The National Domestic Abuse Helpline is open 24/7 on 0808 2000 247. Men can contact the Men’s Advice Line on 0808 8010 327 or the ManKind Initiative on 01823 334244. LGBTQ+ victims can reach Galop on 0800 999 5428. Childline is available for young people on 0800 1111. The World Cup is a celebration for many. For others, it’s a danger period. #domesticviolence #football #england
