Applying for PIP for my mum was not easy. If you’re lucky enough not to need benefits don’t stereotype those who do. The idea that the UK is overly generous to disabled people is ridiculous.

Not this Jonathan, unfortunately.
Today, I am going to help Jonathan build a rocket and then see if we can fuel it with marmalade.

Staff pass motion of no confidence in @uniofeastanglia Probably no UK #university management has the confidence of its staff anymore There have been too many betrayals, too many mistakes, too much pain ... & too much money paid to the talentless bbc.com/news/articles/cq5l24…

Being invited to workshops on how to boost my institution’s reputation at the same time as research time is being cut and teaching loads increased is… a bit much imho.

NO ACADEMIC outside the UK thinks that the REF is a good idea, or indeed, that it has any international significance ...
THE posting everything 3 times provides an opportunity to reiterate that when corrupt and incompetent VCs advocate for something (in this case, the REF), you can be sure it undermines academic staff and empowers them.

A plague on Reviewer 2s and all your "helpful" feedback which yes, I do find "disappointing."

academia is just making mental notes on how you don’t want to behave when you become a professor and then never becoming a professor

Watching Eyes Wide Shut in a cinema that used to be the home of Louis XIV’s doctor is somehow very appropriate.

I was in the Supermarket (I love to go there to read the packages, it is just like a library, really) and I saw a number of Family Circle with “Marianne Moore on Baseball” on the cover & of course I bought it. – Elizabeth Bishop, Oct 10 1968
