We are caught up in this repeated cycle of none sense commissioning that organisations have to appease to survive. As such, nothing changes and good money goes to waste.
Ask the correct questions, but make sure you ask the “right people”.

Good to hear each prison will be getting a Reading Strategy. What we also need are senior level staff in prisons with the skills and expertise to consistently delivery against said strategies. Not necessarily operationally experienced but passionate, sector experienced leaders.
50% of prisoners struggle with reading, but education providers and prisons are not doing enough. Time in jail is a good opportunity to improve reading - see my blog. justiceinspectorates.gov.uk/…
Well done McDonalds for helping to give people a second chance. Working in the community from open prison conditions is a fundamental part of the resettlement process. McDonalds have been supporting this for over a decade. More organisations should do the same.
