This is Nala, our 13-year-old German Shepherd. Last night we had to let her go, and we're still processing it all. I want the whole world to know about her & how great she was.
Nala, when Jocelyn and I started dating between Denver and Chicago, you welcomed me into your pack right away and loved me unconditionally. You flew on planes, rode across states, and climbed mountains, and when you got to Chicago you were right back at home on day one, claiming the couch and every one of your spots in the house. You were the first one to move in with me then Jocelyn came few months later.
You were so smart, always pointing us right to what you wanted. You were loyal, and you listened even when you were busy barking away. You were my first big dog, and you were a simple girl who loved her treats.
The house feels so empty without you, but I know you're in heaven, still watching over us and barking from the window. Being your stepdad that stepped UP was a pleasure, and I'm forever grateful. If you got a dog give em a treat, do it for our Nala or just take a shot tonight for her. ❤️🐾 🪽
