Did you just now realize gas was expensive? #ncpol
Rising fuel costs are squeezing North Carolina families’ pocketbooks and creating challenges for farmers across the state. North Carolinians can’t afford to wait. Today, @SenatorBerger and I are calling for a special session of the General Assembly to provide immediate relief at the pump. More details forthcoming.

Bingo. If they wanted to, they could right now. They could’ve last month. Nobody is falling for yet another lie from this dude man.
Trump is pretending republicans don’t control the house and senate right now. If they wanted to send a $5,000 check they could do it right now.

Tomorrow morning, the state will send voters their absentee ballots. The very same morning, the State Board of Elections will vote on memos that the public has not seen that could change how election administrators do their jobs. This State Board has had more than a year to plan for this year’s election, and administering elections is its only job. Voters need transparency from Dave Boliek’s Board of Elections so they can have faith in our elections process.

literally facilitating a massive transfer of wealth, with much of it benefiting him and his family, but hey… let’s focus on brown people and trans people. They’re distracting you while stealing from you.

The GOP has had complete control “while Washington keeps failing to deliver”. The call is coming from inside the house. These folks are genuinely just playing in people’s faces.
Hardworking families are paying more while Washington keeps failing to deliver. @WhatleyNC is ready to shake up the status quo, take on career politicians like Roy Cooper, and fight for lower costs and meaningful relief. It’s time for a change.

Rep. @JordanALopez_: “Passing these bills did not make anybody's life easier yesterday. Nobody's electricity bill is going down. Nobody's rent is becoming more affordable. Nobody's wages are going up. We still don't have a budget. It's a distraction.” #ncpol #ncga

Well, well, well... @BrendenJonesNC stood on the House floor and claimed the ABC Chairman wanted this warehouse deal. The ABC Chairman says he never asked for it. ABC officials say he pushed a warehouse deal costing taxpayers $589M instead of $310M. We found the waste, fraud and abuse, Brenden. It's you. #ncpol newsobserver.com/news/politi…

Instead of exploring ways to use state STIP funding to create regional transit opportunities, Republicans in Raleigh rather try to force tolls lanes onto communities. Charlotte, and subsequently the CRPTO, listened to their constituents and now may be punished for it.
New: The municipalities that voted to rescind the I-77 toll lane project could have to pay NCDOT back for sunk costs. I obtained a draft amendment circulating the legislature. It would be an amendment to HB1094. Lawmakers are expected to gut and amend it with a DOT omnibus. However there are some folks involved with this process who believe this is not the appropriate vehicle for this language and would rather see a version of this in the budget. It would require municipalities to pay back NCDOT for the sunk costs proportionate to their weighted vote. So Charlotte would bare most of the more than $60 million for I-77. NCDOT would also withhold Powell Bill funds until paid in full. More to come.

Reminder that the courts nor legislative leaders are doing anything to protect you as a ratepayer from higher energy bills.

Speaker of the TN House Cameron Sexton just removed me and every Democrat — and therefore every Black elected official in the state legislature from any committee we served on. This move strips nearly 2 million Tennesseans from the representation they deserve in TN state leg.
House Speaker Cameron Sexton has removed Democratic Caucus members from standing committees until next session due to "disrupting processes" and "creating disorder" during the special session. pro.stateaffairs.com/tn/poli…
