Baseball is such a weird sport. Bellinger crushes a ball to CF and is a couple feet from putting the Yankees up 5-1. Instead, the Rays score 4 runs, largely on the back of 3 infield grounders. But I'm sure Yankees fans will find some way to blame Aaron Boone for that.

Gotta imagine that’s it for Schlittler. I’d go to Rodon for the 7th and 8th, FWIW.

This is unbelievable. Over the past 30 years, only 2 homegrown Yankees have played at least 100 games at third base: Miguel Andujar (153) and Oswaldo Cabrera (127). That's it. Obviously A-Rod held it down for years, but 3B has been a black hole for a long time.

The endless cycle of guys like Chase Headley and Josh Donaldson and Gio Urshela and Ryan McMahon has been a HUGE problem, and wouldn't be necessary if the franchise had manage to produce a SINGLE prospect at the position.

If you’re gonna go with 16 position players, that should probably include a third catcher so you can be aggressive hitting for Wells/Sanchez. Don’t want a situation where Sanchez is hitting in a big spot because you hit for Wells early and you don’t have another catcher.

Chris Spatola was so smart. So knowledgeable on so many things. When you were around Chris you knew you were around someone that cared. Was committed to excellence. He held himself to such a high standard . His family deserves our prayers and needs to know our admiration for him.

Imagine thinking your medical opinion is better than a doctor’s.
Get on the cart. Don’t have to prove anything by walking off the field on your own power. Get OFF your feet and don’t add to the injury when it freshly happens. A lot of talk about Caleb Williams. Idk if it impacted Dart but now it’s worse than they thought it was last night.

We can’t afford to be wrong about AI. The media should be covering it as the biggest story of our lifetime, because it is. It’s not a partisan issue, it transcends borders, and it requires actual leadership from politicians.

Why didn’t Texas wait even longer? They should have managed the clock so that if they failed on 3rd down, there would have been only enough time to run a 4th down play.

It is absolutely astonishing that the deep state manipulated the data when Trump was president to keep him from winning reelection, but then turned around and manipulated it again in 2024 to elect him. The same people who were a part of the deep state in both election years!

I’m still struggling to understand why the ref was required to give a yellow for simulation. Why couldn’t he have rescinded the Argentina yellow and just moved on?

Everyone sucks in this Balogun situation, with one exception. 1) FIFA has handled this in the most FIFA way possible. Instead of providing a clear explanation based on improper VAR protocols, It has been as opaque as possible, almost as if It WANTS the perception of corruption.

All sports evolve over time. The offside rule has changed multiple times in history. It's ok to keep iterating and making things better. There's nothing sacrosanct about the rules of football, and it's lame to suggest Americans don't understand the game when we make suggestions.

But, whatever. Instead of finding good solutions, instead of making things better, we'll just keep yelling at each other. We'll take a joyous story -- the USMNT's run so far -- and sully it. This is why we can't have nice things.
